Outbreak (Open)

Dixon slowly got up, he wasn't in the mood for running and games. Though, he did still have something to tell the entire 'pride' of survivors. More like a group of lost rouges, but if he was in it, it would be hard to get out. He'd already found a small friend, and he doubted she would let him leave this soon. With a sigh, he started walking towards the small gathering. "I have something to say, that could save our lives." Standing much taller over most of the lions and letting his husky voice moan.

Bianka turned her attention to Dixons low voice. She trotted over, ignoring the searing pain in her shoulder. She stared at him, a wide eyed, expectant face. She looked around at the other lions, then returned her attention to Dixon.

Hiroshima looked up and saw the lions all surrounding the other one... "wonder what he's telling them" Hiroshima lithly drew himself up onto his feet and silently padded over. Looking over the small group of lions, He sat back down and looked at Dixon, bowing his head slightly in acknowledgement.

Dixon sighed, then dropped his head. " You can't always smell the infected coming." He said, then looked up. "They are adapting, and their bodies don't let of that stench anymore." Looking behind at the trees, just to make sure no one got attacked. "I learned this yesterday, before I found all of you. I was attacked and I thought I was safe because I couldnt smell them." Huffing out his breath, then sitting on the lush grass. "No one is safe because of this adaptation. Our noses were the strongest link." Taking a breath. "We all have to be on a look out, okay? Just to be safe. Never go off by yourself." Nodding at the lions, and lionesses, hoping they would agree.

Bianka frowned at looked at the ground,"So, we have to have each others backs."
It was not a difficult thing for her, but she wondered of Dixon and their leader could get past themselves and their pride when it mattered. "Um," she stood up,"It's getting really dark-shouldn't we get somewhere more easily defended where we could sleep?"

Hiroshima nodded at Dixon, "thanks for the warning, but it's not them that are adapting. It's just us getting more and more used to the smell that is know all around us. There are more infected now than us. look to the sky, the birds of prey follow them and will warn you when they are around."

Bianka sighed, their leader just had to contradict Dixon. She liked both their leader and Dixon, but she wished they could get along. She knew it was possible-her old pride had had three adult lions and they got along fine, it might've been the fact that none of them wanted to lead. One wanted to play, one talk and joke, and the other keep to himself. She sighed again and trotted a little ways off, laid down, and put a paw over her head. As she started to drift into sleep, pieces of her past flooded into her mind and she lurched awake, flinching as the wound on her shoulder tore her flesh further.

Dixon simply sighed, then laid on the soft grass. Keeping a close watch of the close-by forest. It seemed quiet, but sometimes it wasn't. Danger lurked around every unknown corner, he had to stay awake to watch them. First, being contradicted by Hiroshima. He couldn't let death of a fellow-survivor be in his ledger and taunting him all his life. He hadn't slept well in quite a few days, only simple naps.

Hiroshima yawned and stood up. He looked up at the star studded sky searching for any birds of prey above them. The nighttime was the worse, it was hard to know where the infected were, he looked around at the sleeping lionesses and then at Dixon who was fighting to stay awake. Hiroshima padded over to him and sat down. "Go to sleep. If you are going to be of any use to us you have to be well rested. I've slept pretty well these past few days so i'll take watch. If anything's out there I'll wake you."

Bianka watched their leader tell Dixon something with disinterest. She was bored and tired, she hadn't slept for two days; since she'd run away from her infected pride. She watched their leader pace away then turned her back on the rest of the lions. As she looked around, movement in the sky sparked her interest. She looked up, five or six vultures were circling a little ways off. Look to the sky, the birds of prey will warn you, their leader's previous words entered her mind. Bianka bolted up,"The infected-they're here!"
Just as the words exited her mouth, a cheetah leapt out of the bushes. Bianka swallowed hard as it inspected her with a crazy-eyed look. Then it pounced.
