Cheza smiled as the lioness told him her name, "That's a nice name." It sure was nice to see another somebody after being on his own for such a long time.

"Thanks". Kipekee felt the need to stretch, she did so and every scar and bruise became visible.

Cheza's eyes widened as he saw all the gashes on the lionesses body, "Oh my..." he jumped down from the tree, not considering the possibility that it might startle the lioness a little. He was just too horrified from the sight to ignore it. "What happened to you?"

Kipekee jumped back a little. She didn't want to tell him, but something told her that he cared. "I-It's hard to e-e-explain", she muttered quietly. "I was the only female in my pride, when I didn't catch food my dad...he hit me and clawed me. Then Akida introduced me to....to mating.....it hurt alot and soon every male, even my father was doing it to me", she finished with a silent tear falling from her eye.

Cheza became more and more horrified as Kipekee explained everything to him. And to think that he thought his uncle Scar was bad. "Kipekee, I... I dunno what to say, it sounds horrible..." he took a few steps closer but did nothing but take a closer look at her injuries. "You should wash those, it will make you feel better." last time he hurt himself a dive in the water helped. "Are you hungry or anything? There are some left-overs from what I caught yesterday... I can show you the waterhole if you want to have some water and maybe clean up..." he wished there was anything else he could do to help.

"I've never been helped this much in all my life" Kipekee replied in confusion. "I am a little hungry and thirsty.....and I thought every father is meant to hit them....".

Cheza frowned at that, "What? Of course not! That's terrible!" he sighed and decided not to depress her with any of what he had to say or ask about her story. "The waterhole is this way. It's next to my den, there's some food in there."

Kipekee smiled, "Thanks Cheza". She followed him to the water hole and she drunk for a bit, then she dived in. At first her scars stung but then it soothed them.

Cheza laid down by the waterhole. After a few moments he found himself staring at the lioness. He was just feeling really awkward by having another lion around all of a sudden. He decided to stop looking at her so that she wouldn't get nervous necause of him, especially after the abuse she went through. "You can stay here for as long as you want. I really don't mind." in his opinion he was being kind and was trying to help. Deep down though, even if he didn't know it yet, it was he who wanted her to stay.

Kipekee crawled out of the water and shaked her fur like a dog would do. Her scars still visible but they looked cleaner and less appalling. She heard Cheza's word's and gasped disbelievingly, "Really?".
