Kali smiled down at her daughter. "Make sure you remember what he taught you...it could save someone's life one day."
She then turned to others, noticing Busara was staying back as well, obviously curious. "Alright, now...as everyone already knows, I cannot begin my training with you because of Tanga's injuries." She paused to look her son over, noting with a smile that his wounds seemed to healing at an extraordinary rate...she gave him another week at the most before they would be able to start the training. "But, there is something that everyone, even Tanga, can do to help prepare yourselves better. It will make the training slightly easier for some of you...as long as you commit to it."
She took a breath, then explained herself. "As you know, my training is about teaching you how to fight...but all the knowledge and skill you possess is useless if you do not have the energy and stamina to use it. It you tire out too quickly in a fight, you've already lost, even if you're a master fighter. What I'm about to propose to you will help build your energy."
"Every day, starting from now or tomorrow, your choice, I want all of you to do three laps around this hillside. But the catch that you must maintain a fast pace...a least a steady jog, no walking. It will wear you out initially, I can guarantee it, but the more exhausted you feel at the end of it, the better you've done. By pushing your body to it's limits, you raise those limits slightly. If you were to do this every day for a week, by the end of the week you will find it far less tiring to make those three laps...and if you think you can handle it, you could try either adding more laps, or going for a faster pace."
"It's not a fighting skill, and it might not seem useful...but trust me, having the ability to fight, run, or do anything for a long time without tiring can be the difference between life and death."
