Conal gives Kayla a confused look .

"Yeah, if he doesn't kill us first."

Conal looks into the far distance,

"Well, guess we should get going then."

[TheLastLion]

"Between the two of us, he can certainly try." Kayla replies. "Come on, let's help get you get your life back."

[Stormy]

They begin to walk.

"I guess now it would be a good time to mention he's a lot bigger than both of us."

[TheLastLion]

"He's bigger, but we're faster and there's two of us. It's not always about overpowering your opponent." They continue to walk.

[Stormy]

"I've seen him take on more than two. He was really protective of the pride before he tried to overthrow the king. I'm not sure why he did it."

Conal had grown a deep fear of the lion

[TheLastLion]

"I get you're nervous. I'll be honest, I'm terrified too." Kayla responds, her voice less certain than it was not too long ago "But whenever I get scared, I recall an adage that my father taught me."

[Stormy]

"What was it?"

[TheLastLion]

"Courage is not the absence of fear, but the absence of being controlled by fear."

[Stormy]

"Huh. I wish I had heard things like that before. I went through a lot of my life in fear."

[TheLastLion]

"No doubt you've encountered people who abuse fear as a means of control." Kayla growls.
