Saka laughed as the cub cowered between his massive legs. He bent over and looked the cub in his wide, frightened eyes. "You better listen to your mother." The cub tripped backwards, trying to get farther away from his mother. Saka laughed again,"What if you're on my back?"

Futenal shook his head and cast a look over at his mother who was growing more and more aggravated by the minute, then up at the male. "Please don't put me in the water!" he pleaded.

Saka looked past the cubs head at his paws,"I'll make you a deal. You get in the water and ill get in with you, okay?" He stepped into the water next to the lioness and gave her an innocent grin. He turned back to the cub,"C'mon."

Futenal shook his head now and cowered into the ground. Losing her patience Rachelley dragged herself out of the water and picked up her son by the scruff. Walking out into the middle she dropped him.

Saka gave the cub a guilty shrug and whispered,"I'm sorry." He rolled around in the water, trying to encourage the cub and show him it wouldn't hurt him.

Futenal cried out as he was doused in water and started to paddle furiously to get get out. "No" his mother said and pushed him back into the water. "Stay in, it'll be safer." then looking up stream Rachelley saw the male lion running towards them with the two females. "looks like your pride is back." She said sourly to the lion.

Saka looked up, strangely uninterested, but nevertheless relieved. "Hey," he said softly, nuzzling Vida who recoiled at his dampness. Tiaret mustered a small, tired smile as she lapped up water.Saka smiled as the cub tried to sneak out again and his mother pulled him back in with a stern look.

As soon as Shahallie reached Saka, he just fell into the water with no hesitation. He just floated for a bit, analyzing about everything that's happened today, and finally said

"You guys need to leave. No where here is safe, and the fires are getting worse by the minute."

Tiaret looked surprised.

"What do you mean "you guys"?" She asked.

Shahallie got out of the water and started to eat some of the zebra.

"I'm leaving first thing tomorrow. I'm not a hundred percent ok, but I need to move on and try to find my family." He then added "I'm not part of your pride, and the deal was that I was suppose to leave as soon as I'm better."

Saka marked Tiarets noticeable disappointment,"Maybe, maybe you could stay. I mean, we are all lions and I don't think prides matter anymore."
Tiaret immediately perked up and gave Shahallie an expectant look.
Saka turned his attention away from them, towards the cub,"Hey, what's your name?"

Vida watched Saka, Tiaret, and Shahallie talk for a few moments. She waited until the conversations had moved far enough from the strange lioness for her to approach. She shuddered as she stepped into the water, then walked towards her. She lowered her voice,"Sakas nice, you should be nicer to him."

Rachelley glared at the strange lioness, "I know exactly what type you are, so i would suggest you stay away from me and my cub before you say something you regret." She snarled quietly.

Futenal perked up being in the center of this males attention. "I'm Futenal! what's your name?"
