Gracie was delighted to hear the word 'Mommy' again, she smiled for a moment before looking down at both her daughter and son.
"Well, if you look around you, you'll notice the tree's are getting greener, that's because we are getting closer to water. Maybe another hour of walking, and we'll be able to get there". As she walked a little further, she noticed a small spring of water that was forming a little stream.

"I think we're closer than I thought", she added. She pointed out the water to her cubs and Chaka eagerly started lapping it up, for he was just as thirsty as his sister, if not more.

Shani smiled with excitement as her mother told her that they were nearing a waterhole, and the first thing she did upon seeing the small spring of water was run over and drink. She stood there drinking bigger amount than she thought her small body would be ever able to contain.

Gracie also bent over and began to lap from the stream, the cool liquid wetter her dry mouth and throat. Once she had finished, she began walking again, at the right speed so her cubs could keep up. Chaka looked at his sister as he began walking again too,
"I wonder where we're going! I hope we get to see other cubs". Chaka had always wanted to meet and play with someone other than his sister, and was wondering if his sister felt the same way.

Shani was sharing her brother's excitement. Not that she didn't like playing with her brother or anything, there would never be anyone who will be able to replace him, but every once in a while the young lioness cub would wish that they both had other cubs to play with. "I hope we never have to go back!" she blurted out, before the smile disappeared from her face. She looked up at her mother with a nervous smile, hoping that her mother wasn't mad at what she had just said.

Gracie stopped and turned around. She looked down at the two who were staring up at her. She frowned and said,
"Well let me tell you-", she suddenly grinned, "That you'll never have to go back. We are going away, forever!". Chaka's heart leapt as he jumped over to his mother and gave her leg the biggest hug ever.

Shani's worried look turned into probably the hugest smile a cub could bring himself to do as she jumped towards her mother's and hugged herself against her muzzle, only to slip and fall onto her back after a few moments. "Yay!!" now they'll all be able to eat normal amounts of food, they all wouldn't be abused by Roark and Gracie wouldn't overwork herself so much. "This is the best day ever!"

A while later, they finally came to the water hole. There was plenty of prey that hadn't noticed there arrival. She told the cubs to follow her as she waved in and out of the bushes to a little cave that looked big enough for the night. Then it struck her, she had never left the cubs alone before. She thought for a moment, they'd be ok, as long as they didn't leave and kept quiet.

"Now kids, I'm going to hunt, and you two have to promise you won't go anywhere and won't make a sound while I'm gone", she told them quietly. Chaka nodded silently, he looked at his sister and smiled, thinking of food. Chaka loved his food, and used to savor whatever he had when they were with Roark.

Normally Shani's playful personality would eventually stop her from listening to their mother's order but after living with Roark for such a long time, she was going to listen to her mother and be quiet. "Alright mom." she said, also using a quiet tone to emphasize that she understood and would keep quiet. She smiled back at her brother, but like her mother ordered said nothing.
