Uru sighed; she'd though Uzuri was one of the more open-minded lionesses. She really didn't understand why she should eat before those who hunted beside her. Then again, she hadn't really understood any of the ways of the pridelands at first; it was times like thisthat made her feel like an outsider to the pride...

Uzuri's face went neutral. "It's like this, Uru: the fact that you want the life of an ordinary lioness and not a queen proves that you're perfect for the role of wife to Ahadi," she stated.

Uru's face creased in confusion; "How?!"

Uzuri kept her neutral face. "By not wanting power, you have proven yourself worthy of it," she said.

Uru just turned from the lioness, bored of such philosophical topics; instead she moved away from the gathering pride of hungry lions to look over the savannah

Ahadi went to join her. "I'm sorry about Uzuri. She's always been that way. She was my babysitter when I was a cub, and taught me topics such as that when I was older," he said.

Uru nodded slightly, turning away from her mate before speaking; "I'm never really gonna be a prideland lioness, am I?" The question shocked even herself.

Ahadi was shocked. "Uru, you are and will always be a Pridelander. You proved it when you came to be with me during the conflict, despite what our fathers had said," he told her.

"That's not all it takes though is it?" She turned to look at him once more. "You all have some kind of 'unspoken rules' about who is better than who, and which lioness does what... I just don't think I'm on the same wavelength as these lionesses..."
