Tanga smiled at his father, giving his mother a brief nod of greeting, before tucking into the wildebeest with far less gusto than Nala, despite the fact that he was probably just as hungry as her. He looked up at Uhuru a couple of times while eating, but said nothing, not sure how his mother.

Kali was slightly taken aback by the way Tanga's friend Marini ignored her, and Tanga barely acknowledged her. But it had the effect of driving home the rather cold reception she had given Tanga, and she realised that she had not given Tanga the chance she knew he deserved. "Tanga..." she said slowly, drawing her son's attention. "I apologise for threatening you earlier. I did not know your intentions, and was just trying to protect Uhuru...for all I know, you could have intended on trying to get revenge on us abandoning you. If you'll let me...I want to start over."
She watched Tanga as he looked up, wondering what he was going to do. Seeing him smile and nod at her, his mouth too full to talk, she smiled back, letting him get back to his meal, relieved that he had accepted her apology. It seemed Busara was right, and their son had grown up with a kind heart.

At this point, Sarabi woke up, stretching and pulling her frame to its paws before she noticed that everyone else was up on the hill eating. Deciding to head that, way, she wandered up to them. "Got room for one more, everyone? And thank you for sharing your kill," she added, nodding at Kali and Busara. "I'll pay you back by going on the next hunt. After that, we can get our own food."
