Tanga saw that Marini was troubled...and knew that he had caused it with all this talk about parents. "I'm sorry, Rini," he said softly, giving her a soft hug. "I can see I've upset you, so I'll stop now...I know this must not seem fair."

----------

Nala smiled, giving Simba a quick lick on the cheek. "That's real sweet of you...where did you learn that?" she asked as they moved out into the open. Nala could not see Tanga or Marini anywhere, but could see Sarabi sleeping in the grass where they had last seen her this morning, and could also see Kali, Busara and Uhuru nearly, digging into the body of a wildebeest they had obviously caught recently.

Marini sighed, there was no arguing with what Tanga said, even though the fact that her mother was dead wasn't his fault. "So... what is this stuff?" she asked and glanced at the liquid that was nearly gone, but still noticeable on some of Tanga's wounds

Simba blushed slightly, but came back to his senses, "I didn't... It sounds like something Mufasa would say." he said and then noticed his mother. Busara and Kali were with their cub feasting of a wildbeast, but Tanga and Marini were yet to return. He sighed and looked at the tall grass they both wondered into, they were probably still in there

Tanga looked down at his chest wounds, lightly touching a paw to the liquid, inspecting the drops of it that trandferred onto his pads closely. "I have no idea," he admitted. "But it stops the wounds from hurting too much, and I guess it also stops dirt and muck getting into the wounds, too. It hurt when dad rubbed it in, but afterwards it felt really good. I never asked what it was...but dad said he had learned a couple of tricks from Rafiki."

He then turned to look out towards where he knew the hill was, wondering what everyone else was up to. "You think we should go back now?"

----------

Nala smiled as Simba talked about his father, noticing he did not seem to be too troubled by the fact that his father was gone any more. She was tempted to suggest that they head over and ask to share the wildebeest, but did not want to seem rude.

Her intentions were made blatantly clear to her boyfriend, however, when her stomach gave a very loud rumble...reminding her that she, and no-one else, for that matter, had eaten since the day before yesterday. Giggling sheepishly, she looked back at Simba. "Think we could ask to share a meal with them?"

Marini smiled as Tanga names Busara dad, instead of calling him by his name. The talk they had probably cheered him up a bit. "Oh, this?" she asked, pointing at the leaves Busara has left there. She bent over and looked at the gel that was coming out of the one that Busara had cut. She touched it and then smiled at Tanga, "It feels smooth." she said and then looked at the hill as Tanga suggested going back, "We can go back if you want to." she said, wanting to make sure Tanga really wanted to go back, and wasn't just trying not to sound rude.

Simba smiled at Nala and at the thought that she was now his girlfriend, "We could..." he said, but just coming all of a sudden and asking to share a meal they had worked for sounded a little rude, "But if they wouldn't mind, then I'd feel better if we hunt instead of them next time." he suggested, he didn't enjoy the feeling of taking food that wasn't his, and if he did, he intended to make it up to them by going out on the next hunt instead of them.

Tanga nodded, getting to his feet. "Yeah, let's go...might as well see how everyone else is."

But as he made his way through the tall grass once more, Tanga felt his nervousness increasing. How would Kali react to his presence this time? Would she be just as aggressive, or would she just ignore him or something? But Tanga knew that he had to interact with them at some point, since he was going to be spending the next few months here, and as such ignored the nervous feeling, walking on.

----------

Nala nodded at Simba's suggestion. "Good idea. I hate to ask them, but..." she gestured to her stomach just as it gave another loud growl. "...as you can probably tell, I'm starving."

With that, Nala got up and cautiously made her way towards the small family, still eating. "Uhh, hello...sorry to intrude, but we haven't eaten in days, and, well...do you think we could join you? We can repay you later for it."

Marini noticed Tanga was growing nervous, and guessed that it was probably because of his mother. She wanted to say something but she didn't, she didn't want to make him more nervous than he already was so she kept quiet as they approached from the tall grass.

Busara only then noticed the two were awake, and smiled at their offer to pay them back later, even though the wildbeest was also meant for them. "Of course, go right ahead, it's also for you."

Nala nodded, hiding her relief so she did not seem rude. "Thank you," she said, before coming up to the others. At this point, she could no longer control herself, and tore into the wildebeest with enthusiasm.

----------

Kali couldn't smiling in amusement as the adolescent lioness attacked the wildebeest like it was still alive, obviously very hungry, before turning to Simba. "Come on, feel free to dig in yourself."

----------

Tanga made his way out of the grass, freezing for a brief moment as he caught sight of everyone else, except Sarabi, over by a wildebeest body...obviously the day's meal. Sighing, before taking a deep breath, he gave Marini a brief nuzzle, drawing strength from the contact, before walking on.

"Hi Simba, Nala!" he called as he got close, happy to note that they seemed rested and refreshed, although Nala was so busy tearing into the wildebeest that she probably did not notice him. He then turned to his parents. "Mum...dad...you have enough for two more, please?"

Simba smiled at Kali before bending over and taking a bite of the dead wildbeest. Once he did he noticed Tanga and Marini came back, and smiled at Tanga when he noticed he was feeling better. He was about to say something as Tanga turned to his parents, so he kept quiet and waited to see what would happend.

Busara turned to his son, but was unable to see whether he was feeling any better since when he talked to him a few hours before. "Of course, there's plenty for everyone." he said and smiled at the two.

Marini smiled back at Busara, he was way nicer than she expected him to be. But she didn't even look at Kali, as rude as that might have been. She slowly sat down beside the dead wildbeest and began eating as well.

Tanga smiled at his father, giving his mother a brief nod of greeting, before tucking into the wildebeest with far less gusto than Nala, despite the fact that he was probably just as hungry as her. He looked up at Uhuru a couple of times while eating, but said nothing, not sure how his mother.

----------

Kali was slightly taken aback by the way Tanga's friend Marini ignored her, and Tanga barely acknowledged her. But it had the effect of driving home the rather cold reception she had given Tanga, and she realised that she had not given Tanga the chance she knew he deserved. "Tanga..." she said slowly, drawing her son's attention. "I apologise for threatening you earlier. I did not know your intentions, and was just trying to protect Uhuru...for all I know, you could have intended on trying to get revenge on us abandoning you. If you'll let me...I want to start over."

She watched Tanga as he looked up, wondering what he was going to do. Seeing him smile and nod at her, his mouth too full to talk, she smiled back, letting him get back to his meal, relieved that he had accepted her apology. It seemed Busara was right, and their son had grown up with a kind heart.

----------

At this point, Sarabi woke up, stretching and pulling her frame to its paws before she noticed that everyone else was up on the hill eating. Deciding to head that, way, she wandered up to them. "Got room for one more, everyone? And thank you for sharing your kill," she added, nodding at Kali and Busara. "I'll pay you back by going on the next hunt. After that, we can get our own food."

Marini didn't raise her head, but took a quick glance at Kali as she apologised to Tanga, to her surprise. It seemed like Tanga was feeling alot better at this, and if he felt better then so did she. She was happy that Tanga was now okay with both of his parents

Uhuru was still eating when she suddenly noticed everyone was there, including her newly discovered brother. She wanted to say something to him but she felt shy all of a sudden. She didn't know what to say and was still hungry, so she kept on eating quietly and decided that she'll talk to and get to know him later.

Busara smiled back at Sarabi before moving away and making her some room. "If you insist." he said as he moved away, giving the older lioness some space in case she needed it. He was already done eating so he sat back as the rest of them continued eating
