Delano agreed with his brother. "Yeah. That was strange." He briefly noted that the others had walked up to them. But he was mostly contemplating what those lions wanted. Why they didn't want other lion contact. But in the end, that's not his business.

The trainer watched the trio walk off. "So, what did you tell them?" He asked.

Muroki went ahead and answered, "We told them to follow the river so they can walk around and not enter."

"And why did you do that?" The trainer asked.

"Becasue they didn't want any contact with lions," Delano explained, "But still wanted to go in that direction."

"And did they tell you why they wanted to avoid contact?" The trainer looked at them, waiting for an answer.

Muroki shrugged, "Looked like they aren't really the pack types... Also we couldn't just allow them to come in here, you said so."

The trainer narrowed his eyes when Muroki shifted the blame at him. "Yes I did. Didn't I?" He looked again towards the river. "If they looked fine, I guess that you did the right thing. But you have to remember to check and see if lions look suspicious or not." He turned back along the border. "Alright, let's go."

Muroki followed the trainer along with everybody else, "They looked like they weren't in a mood for anyone but themselves."

Delano recalled the trio. "Looked like some wandering rogues to me. Nothing special."

Muroki silently nodded at what his brother said, but he was mostly wondering where was the trainer taking them to now.

The trainer lead them around the perimeter. Like Kasi said, it was too large to patrol in one go, so when the sun started to set, they settled down in a small depression in the ground. Delano lay down next to Muroki, close enough to share the warmth, but not close enough to get the trainer into another one of his "trust" speeches.

Delano looked at the horizon and the setting sun, which blinded his eyes. "So good to be able to see the sun on the horizon again," he told his brother, smiling. "Soon the stars will come out..." But even though he wanted to be able to see the stars again, his eyes felt heavy, and eventually, they won the fight and he closed them. He was still able to hear what others were saying, but so far it was only chatter with nothing important. Even the trainer wasn't saying anything important, something he never did before. But Delano didn't care. He was glad for the quiet. "What do you think will happen tomorrow?" He muttered sleepily, still not opening his eyes.


Umeme looked at Kasi, then at the setting sun. She knew that they couldn't delay it much further. They had to talk to Kasi and find out what he did. Padding over to Lina, she prodded her friend to get her attention. Umeme motioned at Kasi. "It's time."

Together, they walked over to Kasi. Umeme cleared her throat. "Kasi, we need to talk." She said sternly.

Kasi looked at the two lionesses. Umeme's voice made him nervous. "About what?" He asked uncertainly.

Muroki silently walked along with everybody else, sometime glancing at the setting sun and sometime at his brother to see what he was doing, which wasn't much. The fact that the trainer wasn't saying was really mood-improving but also slightly weird. Maybe they were really nearing the end of this but maybe the trainer had a few tricks left up his sleeve for either Delano or Muroki. Looking at his brother, he sighed, "I don't know." he said with a shrug, "But I really wouldn't mind some more walking, even though I'd rather be done here as soon as possible. Still, it's better than running or rolling heavy logs."


During the entire time in which she and Umeme did absolutely nothing, Lina tried to figure out with herself how they were going to approach Kasi. She thought about how she should ask him where his cousins were, but not that they were facing him it seemed like it would be most easy to just state it as simply as it was. "Where are your cousins Kasi?" she asked, looking to see whether the question will cause Kasi to become nervous or anything that might hint whether he has a clue about his cousins' whereabouts, even though she and Umeme were already quite certain that he did know something.
