[Closed] Trials in the Pridelands

"I will, Father. I just hope I make the right choice when it comes time to pick my heir," Simba said. He thought about all three of his cubs and wondered who would be the best choice.

"What Kopa? You don't like the nickname? I think it's cool, and besides, you don't have to use your mouth that much, just...Kops." Chaka smiled and hoped his older brother would enjoy the way he called him. He didn't want him to get mad, that was for sure...or not?

Kopa pondered it for a moment, before breaking into a wide grin. "I like it!" he declared. "And if I'm Kops, then you're Chaks!"

Nala stood up from the grass quickly revealing her spot, she looked at Kiara. "Oh dear, yes you did." she said softly. Nala nuzzled Kiara and pushed her towards Kopa and Chaka. "Go play with your brothers." she instructed. Nala sat in the soft grass next to the lounging Sarafina, "Ahh...The breeze feels wonderful today and the sun is bright." she said.

Sarafina nodded silently and looked at the playing cubs, "Stay close cubs." she called to them. Her green eyes looked at Nala relax, "When your a mother you forget how to enjoy the little things." she smirked.

Nala nodded and looked out over the Pridelands, she had view of the outlands. Nala's green eyes caught a some movement that blended in with the shadows and she shook her head. The view was still far and she thought the sun was playing tricks on her, "Oh mom, I hope Mheetu and Vitani are ok." she added looking back to the cubs.

Sarafina sighed, "They are fine.." she spoke back. She watched Kiara and looked at Kopa and Chaka, "Odds are Kopa or Chaka will get the throne? Am I right..?" she asked curiously looking to Nala.

The Pride lands were quiet and Nala noticed the grazing animals further out away from the cubs, she let out a huff. "Honestly, I don't know. I think Simba is thinking one of the boys. But honestly, Maybe its time for a female to be Queen." she said softly thinking.

Diamante' padded deeper into the tall grass, her black body giving her away. The lioness stepped at a steady pace as she got closer she heard the voices of cubs, *hmmm...* she muttered. Her turquoise eyes stuided the playing cubs through the grass and she stepped back. She kept her distance from the cubs, they were unaware of her presence. The lioness hid behind a rock and took a moment before looking back out the playing cubs.

Mostro looked down at Kovu, "Keep practicing, your doing fine." he said to the young cub. His mustard eyes watched Kovu for a moment before looking back to Zira, "What have you decided is going to happen? Do you have a plan?"

Kopa laughed as he tackled his brother to the ground, in a playful manner. But his glee died away as an unfamiliar scent wafted on the breeze. He opened his mouth slightly, allowing it to waft into his scent glands. A lion. "Mom?" he asked, uncertain and slowly growing more frightened by the moment. "What's that?"

"Hey! Chaks?! Kops is cool, but...Chaks? It sounds like I came from a dungeon, you know, like what they wrap around your paws...sha-shackles! There's no way I'm liking that Kopa." Chaka sat down down with an innocent pout on his muzzle. "Sorry, big brother." He placed a paw around Kopa's back and whispered. "Why don't we go and tackle our sister, now that she has her lunch." Chaka gave a sly smile. Suddenly Chaka caught a scent too, and his smile turned into a bewildered frown. It smelt funny, and very dirty. "Umm, mum?"

Kopa ears flattened against his head, and some instinct he ddn't even know he had whispered for him to run. "Mom!" he called louder.

Chaka sat puzzled at why his brother was dashing away, off into the vast field. "Kops, where ya going?" Suddenly he heard a deep growl, but not one like the one you show your teeth with, from hunger. He raised a paw and flattened his ears. "Who's there?!", he shouted. He suddenly started stepping back, and placing his body low to the ground. It was an instinct he guessed, but why hadn't he run away like his OLDER brother?

(OT: He didn't run away. He's still sitting there panic stricken )

"MOM!" he yelled, as he spotted a pair of glowing eyes in the tall grass. His tiny claws unsheathed, though they wouldn't be much help fighting a grown lioness, and he moved to stand next to his brother.

Kiara smelt it too, running with her brother towards her grandmother and mother. "Mom!" She also called, soon after Kopa. Her body made her collapse from running. Though good at fighting, running was very weak for her. Kiara lay close slowing her breathing to hide herself, like her mother taught her.

Mufasa's trained ears heard the commotion, it toke all his strength but he got up and bolted faster then he has in a while. Towards the lionesses and cubs. He jumped in front of the lionesses, all three cubs were still out there. He ran towards each and nudged them to run. While picking Kiara up and running alongside the cubs. "Run Cubs!" He yelled, as they ran towards their mothers. "Show yourself!" He roared to the creature, teeth showing.
