Delano followed Alma outside, scarcely aware of where they were going. His mind felt blank, as though he was incapable of any coherent thought. For a long time, he followed her in silence, not aware of anything else, not even his immediate surroundings. Finally, he asked, "Where are we going?"

"The grasslands. Preferably deep into them too. As long as were back by tonight." Alma replied not turning around. "If you don't wanna come you don't have to." The queen stated freely.

The grasslands? Delano stopped in his stride. "I'm going to go and get the others." he said before turning and running off back to the others.

He found the rest of the pride back at the gathering den. "The queen... is going to bury Nyembe." He told them, out of breath. "Follow me if you want to." he said.

He walked over to Marrone. "I would like to do the speech. I feel like I have to..." he told the king.

Addana heaved herself to her paws, pelt streaked with mud, rain, and blood. The sparkle in her emerald eyes had dimmed with her failure to get the flower and Nyembe's subsequent death. Would anything go right for her today? She turned to follow Delano, feeling it was her duty to see her big brother off. "Mama," she murmured quietly, reverting back to what she had called Alma as a young cub. "Will Nyembe go with the Great Kings of the Past because his last act was trying to save Vitani? Or will he go with the evil lions for trying to kill Mheetu?" The question had just recently popped into her mind as the last of Nyembe's scent faded away.

Alma turned to her daughter and stopped walking, "Addana Nyembe will be with who the great kings decide. I hope they let him go with the great kings he did try to help Vitani. I just wish he didnt die but we can not undo the past it is the circle of life it must have been part of his life path. So would you like to help me dig his hole when we get there?" Alma asked. She held back tears turning and walking once again towards the deep grasslands.

Marrone pulled Addana close to his chest with his paw, and he let her tears fall on his wet pelt. Sighing he followed close behind Delano, Alma and Jafar. "Lets bury him on the outside of the grasslands, under the big tree. So the circle of life can take him...Yes Delano, you can give a speech while I Dig." he said in a deep tone. His grey eyes found their way to the sky and he watched the Pride follow behind him. As he stepped out into the wet grasslands he stepped under the large tree, using his claws he began to slowly dig into the wet dirt. Tears blurred his vision as the large lion flung the dirt behind him, his anger surging through him.

Tempesta followed close behind Delano and she cringed at the sight of Nyembe's lifeless body, she shivered from the wetness of the rain. Standing around she watched Marrone dig deep into the dirt, she cried softly. She kept replaying the rock slid and watching Nyembe get swept into it, she looked away a moment.

Mheetu watched the Pride leave to bury Nyembe and Mheetu nuzzle Vitani's neck. "Tani....wake up. Please.." he whispered softly. He licked her cheek a few times and his mossy green eyes stared up at the rain falling down upon them. So much was going through his mind, he looked back down at Vitani. Mheetu didn't have enough muscle to move her at the moment, but he promised himself he'd take her back to the Pridelands; they were so far from home.

Alma stopped Marrone from digging, "Here let me do it you need to relax." Alma said before nuzzling him and digging where he was digging.

Delano let Alma take over Marrone in digging the grave, and instead walked over to Tempesta. "Hey," he greeted her softly. Tempesta looked at him, tears in her eyes. "Are you okay?" he asked her. he noticed how she refused to look at Nyembe's direction. "Tempesta... it's not your fault..." Delano said again. He didn't know if repeating it would do any good, but he didn't want to remain silent either. "It was an accident. You couldn't have stopped it... and you can't blame yourself over it."

Tempesta didn't seem to care, so Delano tried another approach. "You saved Addana. If you didn't help her, she would have fallen off." Tempesta was still crying, and Delano didn't know the right words to tell her. "You saved a life today, Tempesta. That counts even more."

Alma put Nyembes body in the deep enough hole and cried letting a few tears drip onto his body. "I can't believe it!" Alma said angrily to herself. She looked over at Delano, "You can say something now." Alma said before putting her head in the hole and nuzzling her dead son. She couldn't bare seeing him anymore and covered the hole.
