"Oh no, Simba. We have barely begun," Zira replied. She then picked up Vitani and headed off. Kopa watched them leave. He then brought his mind back to his present situation, as he was sure to be in trouble with his parents.

Once they were inside the Pride Lands Simba motioned to Nala to give him a few moments with Kopa. The queen smiled at her mate and left the two alone, and once she did Simba placed Kopa down and looked at him with a frown. Vitani just remained silent as her mother carried her.

Kopa looked at his father. "Uh, I got lost and ended up here while walking around," he lied. He knew that his father wouldn't buy it, but he had to try and get out of trouble.

Simba's frown remained, "That's not what Zazu told me. What were you thinking? You could have been hurt today!"

"Dad, I just wanted to show how brave I could be. Plus, Vitani was very nice. We had a lot of fun," Kopa said, remembering the golden-furred female who he had just been separated from.

Simba sighed, "Being brave doesn't mean you go looking for trouble." he doubted Vitani was not nice, but he also doubted that Zira would keep her that way. Besides, he could understand how bored Kopa was with being the only cub in the pride. He, unlike his son, had Nala as a friend during his cubhood. Simba let out another sigh, "Vitani might have been nice, but her pride is not."

Kopa wondered what his father meant. "What do you mean her pride isn't nice?" he asked.

Simba said, "As simple as that is stated. They are not to be trusted."

Kopa felt sad. "Ok..." he said, his eyes showing sadness over the loss of his new friend. "Why does Zira want revenge on you?" he asked.

Simba sighed, "It's a long story." he noticed his son's sadness, but knew that he probably wouldn't be able to have Vitani as a friend. Zira would never approve and it was too risky.
