Kali sighed. "Remember, Uhuru, I left him alone when I thought he was dying...and now he's back, and he remembers parts of what happened. I'm pretty certain he's not happy with me or dad. I stopped him from approaching you because I didn't know what he was going to do. There's a very good chance he could be dangerous, because he could hate me and Busara for leaving him."
----------
Tanga hissed as his wounds flared with pain as Busara spread the liquid over his wounds. "Argh! How is that supposed to be..." his angry remark trailed off as the violent stinging was replaced by a cool, soothing sensation. It did not stop the pain entirely, but definitely masked it. "Oh, right, I get it now, sorry."
Tanga stopped as Busara asked him to talk about himself. What was he supposed to say. "Well...after you...left..." he said cautiously, deciding to glance over the subject quickly and move on. "...I was sort of raised by the entire pride, various lionesses taking care of me for a few days at a time. But it was Sarabi and Mufasa that took care of me the most."
"Not long after you left, Marini came into the pride." He pointed back at his sleeping girlfriend, letting Busara know that was Marini. "Her mother was killed when she was very young, and she never knew her father, so I guess we so saw a lot of ourselves in each other. We became good friends, and we also managed to make friends with the young prince, Simba, and his friend, Nala...those were the two others before."
He paused his story there, both to collect his breath...and to emotionally prepare himself for the events that he was about to describe...events that tore at his heart even after all this time.
