Mufasa laughed. "Not yet son." He dramatically paused. "You have a family of your own, you have proven to me that you are ready." He finished, with a wide smile spread across his face. "Take the throne son." He nodded in approval.

Kiara frowned then smirked. "Well, pity on you." She spat at Chaka, walking with her nose and tail erect. "See mother! I'm fit to be queen!" She smiled, spotting in her tracks. She wanted to be queen one day, just like her mother.

"Very well, Father. As of today, I take the throne," he said. He then looked at his family. "My family, as of today, I am king of the Pridelands. Nala, you are my queen," he said to his mate. He then looked at his three cubs. "Kopa and Chaka, you are the princes. Kiara, you are the princess," he stated.

She chuckled at heir little pouncing game. Monstro had done well, but there was still more to be done. They needed a plan; brute force alone wouldn't do it. But there was still much time left. Zira lay her head down on her paws and slept.

Simba was watching the expressions on his cubs' faces. "Yes, we are the new royal family," he told them.

Kiara's mouth dropped. "HAHA! I am the princess! I am the princess!" She danced around, with the biggest smile on her face.

Simba chuckled at Kiara's enthusiasm before becoming serious once more. "However, let me give you three a warning. Do not let your thoughts become filled with visions of glory and power. Such thoughts are the first steps down the path of darkness," he said, remembering what Mufasa had told him when he was a cub.

Kopa nodded, unusually solemn for a cub of his age. "I promise I won't, Father."

"That is good to hear, Kopa. Hopefully, your brother and sister feel the same way," Simba answered.

Kopa glanced at Kiara and Chaka, pondering whether or not they actually truly did.
