A Change of Plans [PRIVATE: AC & The Whistlerify]

Sarabi nodded. It seemed Busara was a bit more guilty about his past actions than Kali...and Sarabi respected that. "We can't change the past, Busara...but we can learn from it," was all she said, before placing her head on her paws...like the adolescents, she felt like taking a nice morning nap after their long night as well.

----------

Kali gave her daughter a sweet smile. "It looks like he's already started healing, so he should be fine. By the looks of it, he'll always carry some marks on his chest...but he'll be okay."

Despite her soothing tone, she really did not care much for Tanga...the wounds just proved that, despite the fact he had survived, he was still a weak lion, and Kali valued strength. Busara was a strong lion, and Uhuru looked like she was going to grow up to become a fine, strong lioness as well. But she held little respect for Tanga. Not only that, but their abandonment of him must be a sore point, and Kali was certain that he would be plotting some way of getting back at them.

Busara found some comfort at Sarabi's words. He wanted to say something as well but he noticed Sarabi was trying to get some sleep. He sighed, got up and began walking for the waterhole, he wanted to attend Tanga's wounds as soon as Tanga came back in case he did, and then maybe try to interract with him a little.

Uhuru then managed to get out of her mother's grip which she had let go of a little while they were talking, before playfully pouncing at her mother again, "Can I go and play now?" she asked, her mind already plotting on how to catch butterflies

Kali sighed heavily. She wanted to keep Uhuru a little more restrained today, thanks to their new visitors...particularly Tanga...but knew that such a prospect was futile. "Alright...as long as you stay on the hill...don't go wandering off into the grasslands for today."

Leaving her daughter to run off and play on their hill however she pleased, Kali turned and, noticing her mate was heading towards the only waterhole near their hill, literally at the foot of it, she decided to head to her mate's side. But when she reached it, she was a little unsure of what to say. "Well, this has certainly been an interesting day so far," she finally managed. "It doesn't seem possible, though, that Tanga's still alive."

Uhuru nodded at her mother before running off for the hill.
Busara noticed Kali by his side, but waited for her to say something first. When she did, he answered back, "Well... as impossible as it seems... he's still alive." he said and sighed. He noticed the plant he was looking for by the side of the waterhole and began heading that way. He wandered whether Kali was intending on ever telling Uhuru that Tanga was her brother. He wanted to tell her, but he wouldn't dare without asking for her opinion first

Kali listened to Busara's response, before deciding to speak up once more. "Uhuru's curious about him...and I don't like it. We left Tanga behind...and now he's back...who knows what he'll want to do to us. And his wounds...he's obviously been fighting recently. I don't trust him."

As Busara went to the plants at the side of the waterhole, Kali stayed by her mate's side, but slipped to the water's edge, grabbing a quick drink while she waited for her mate to speak up...he seemed almost guilty about what they had done to Tanga...and she did not like that.

Busara then remembered what Sarabi told him, "He fought a leopard that tried to kill him and his friend, it was probably just self defence." he said, even though according to what Sarabi had said, Tanga and Marini were more then just friends. "You know we'll have to tell Uhuru at some point... it's better if we tell her than have her find out herself." he then reached the plants. Those were thick long green lives, with thorns on the sides, but inside those was a liquid that could could relieve the wounded areas from pain and help them recover faster. Carefully grabbing one of the leaves from it's top and buttom to avoid being stung by it's thorns, he managed to break a part of it, before doing the same with a few more. He then began breaking down the thorns on the sides of the leaves so he could carry them back to their den.

Kali considered Busara's words. She had missed the part about the leopard, but it did little to improve his image in her mind...he was obviously a poor fighter if a leopard could best him and leave him so badly wounded.

She knew she had to say something about Uhuru, though. "I don't like it, Busara...telling her is just going to make her even more curious about him." Despite her words, she sighed in resignation. "But you're right, it's better if she learns it from us, than finding out herself and doing something stupid in her curiosity towards him."

She then changed the subject as something else clicked in her mind. "I wonder where they've been, though? I mean, Sarabi is the queen of the Pridelands, and the Pridelands aren't a full night's walk from here. Where's Mufasa, and why have they left the Pridelands...and where have they been before they came here." She frowned thoughtfully. "This all seems just a little suspicious to me."

Busara then stopped what he was doing for a moment to think about what his mate has just said. It did seem wierd now that she said it, they were going to have to ask Sarabi what happend. "Sarabi said they were forced away from the Pridelands. We'll have to ask her for the full story I guess." he said and sighed, he then continued removing the thorns off from the long, thick green leaves that were laying on the floor. As he finished he picked them up in his mouth and then motioned to his mate that he was going back, since he couldn't really say anything with his mouth full

Kali nodded, knowing why Busara had picked the thorns, and who they were for. "You go find Tanga...I'll see if I can't chase down Uhuru so I can tell her about Tanga."

the two of them then going their seperate ways, Kali headed straight to the hill, pacing along it. "Uhuru!" she called, knowing exactly what she could say to make her daughter come out. "Uhuru, don't play hide and seek, mummy's got a really good story to tell you!"

Busara then began walking for the den, before turning towards the tall grass Tanga and Marini wondered intoa few minutes before.
Uhuru heard her mother coming and went to hide, but her mother always knew how to get her to come out. She always enjoyed listening to her mother's stories. She ran out of the small patch of grass she was hiding at and pounced at her mother's back. "Tell me tell me tell me!" she said but fell as she attempted to climg onto her mother's back
