Kovu looked at Navi and banged his head on the ground. "Man I was so stupid." He looked around at the desolate place and asked Navi and the lioness, "Do you smell any lionesses around?" He then looked at Navi and said, "You know if we cannot find the Pridelands and you do not find Jack well..." He then started laughing nervously a little unlike his character.

Navi tried desperately to sniff the air, but could smell nothing of help to them. "Perhaps if we wait until nightfall." she said to Kovu, "You could try to summon the Great Kings." she shivvered as she said this. Scar had been appearing to her as the Great Kings appeared to Simba. "You are the Prince, after all."

"Yes of course!" Now was the day departing, and the air, imbrowned with shadows, from their toils released all animals on earth. Kovu looked up and asked the Kings for guidance. "Great Kings of the Past please help us." Then a brilliant light came and a figure came form it. "Simba!" "Yes Kovu it is me I have heard your pleas and have come to give you help on the task at hand."

Navi stared in awe at Simba appearing in the sky. For once, someone appeared in the sky who was not Scar. She hoped he might speak to her once he was through with Kovu. Shielding her eyes from the bright light, she waited to see what happened next.

Simba continued speaking. "Kovu the Pridelands are beyond these lands so you are going in the right direction. You also better start being a little faithful toward Kiara." He then turned to Navi. "Jack waits for you. I tried to find you for years but failed."

Navi looked back with hope. "Thank you, Simba. But what of Grunge? What is there in the Pridelands to help him?" she asked, knowing that he had to get there but not why. "He is dead, but my gut tells me that the Pridelands will be of help."

"Navi there are some herbs that will revive Grunge once he gets in the Prideland. Jack and the others will be waiting for you. Kovu hurry for Grunge will not wake up ever if you do not! Run!" Kovu broke off in the direction Kovu said to go but Navi passed him easily.

Running at her fastest speed, Navi headed straight for the Pridelands. Thoughts of Jack and all the others ran through her mind, and a smile formed on her face. Once again she would live in the land where no one went hungry or thirsty, or unaided in times of need. She also wanted to have whatever herbs Simba had been talking about to be ready when Grunge arrived.

Jack saw a silouette in the distance and could not believe who it was. He rubbed his eyes making sure he was not seeing things. "Get Snow so that he may see that I was right!" he told the others. His heart pounded as he waited for Navi to return. He thought about running to her himself for it seemed so long. Kovu continued running knowing Navi would beat him. He hoped she would relay the message.

By the time Kovu reached the Pridelands it was dark, and heavy rain had been pouring down for hours, making the ground wet and muddy. Navi had spread the word of Kovu's return with the other lioness, as well as wounded Kiara and dead Grunge. Rafiki was right there to greet Kovu. Come, Kovu! You follow old Rafiki, he knows de way! he said, more seriously than the last time he'd uttered that sentence.
