[Open] Enemy From Within

Yawning softly, Vitani opened her eyes to see darkness. She panicked for a moment, realizing she was very hot and pressed against something furry. Then, all of the previous days' events returned to her. Hakara. She leaned her head up a bit and looked at his sleeping face. As always, he looked at peace. She purred softly and leaned up, nuzzling him gently. She didn't want to wake him from his sleep. Getting up slowly, she limped to the entrance of the den, her paw barely touching the ground. There was far less pain now, but she doubted she'd be able to hunt for atleast a few more days. She sat down, looking out across the grasslands. The sun seemed to light up all of the distance. With a smile, she sighed. "This is all my home now," she said quietly.

Hakara remained asleep, a smile on his face as he remembered the night's events. It had been the best day of his life, one that he would not soon forget.

Turning around, Vitani faced Hakara, and, seeing the smile on his face, her own widened. Padding softly up to him, she lay down infront of him, her muzzle inches from his. Tenatively, she leaned forward and licked his muzzle lovingly. "I love you," she said softly, trying not to wake him up.

Hakara remained asleep. Finally, however, he awoke to the sight of Vitani's face. "Hello there," he said.

Hakara yawned. "So, do you have anything planned for the day?" he asked Vitani.

[Applejack]

Vitani smiled and yawned, her good paw pushing her hair tuft to the side. She leaned closer and purred, nuzzling him softly. "Nothing much today," she replied. "I was thinking about seeing if I could help Kiara out at all, but I can't do much with this paw." She chuckled and put her paw on his. "Then again, a nice day with you sounds fine too."

"Then that means I'll be with Kiara" a familiar, tired voice called out before a yawn. Haij was already awake with sleeping Kiara by his side and hearing that specific quote from Vitani. "Morning."

Hakara turned at the sound of the voice. "Good morning, Haij. How did you sleep?" he said.

[Applejack]

Vitani turned to face Haij and nodded, smiling. "Morning, Haij,," she said quietly. "I was hoping to talk with Kiara about the trouble she's having. I've escaped it twice, and, well.. I kind of owe it to her to help her out of it. After all, she's the one who broke me free the first time, without realizing it."
