Kiana was trying to figure out what to do when she was pulled down. She fell to the ground and felt Hokori shield her. His body was warm and it helped a little bit against the cold wind. She didn't know that he was shielding her from flying rocks, and trying to protect her. "Okay!" She screamed, and held Hokori. The two cuddled to stay as warm as possible from the harsh environment. Kiana was a bit scared at what was happening and didn't know how such a harsh storm rolled in so fast.

[Zeke]

Hokori kept his foreleg over Kiana's shoulder. The hail of rocks started to die down but Hokori soon felt the cold of rain on his back and it started to pour. He just hugged closer to Kiana and lay still, trying not to get too cold.

As the two laid there, she could hear the rain begin. She was already cold enough, and now she got to be wet. If it weren't for Hokori pressed up against her, the cold might have been unbearable for her. The only thing that Kiana was able to do was to hold on tight to Hokori until the storm passed.

Hokori closed his eyes and tried to sleep, but he couldn't. The weather was too much of a distraction and thoughts ran furiously through his head. Is Zeke worried about me? Does Mila care if I'm gone? Will we get out of this?
When is this storm going to end? These thoughts didn't cease to bother him as he lay there. All he could hope for is for the storm to pass.

The next morning, Kiana awoke to a familiar sight. Hokori was right there snuggling with her because of the previous night. The sky seemed to be clear and the surroundings were normal. Kiana decided that it would be best to let Hokori rest, he probably had a harder night then she had. She noticed Hokori move a little bit. Maybe he was awake? "Hokori?" Kiana whispered.

[Zeke]

"Yeah," Hokori said. He hadn't slept all night and his back was almost numb from the cold. He couldnt feel the slight cuts in his skin which was a good thing because his back was beat up from the rocks.

"How are you doing?" Kiana asked. She was worried that Hokori had been through a bad night, because he didn't have anyone to shield him.

[Zeke]

"I'm ok. I'm just tired," Hokori said as he lifted his head from his paws. "How are you Kiana?"

Kiana looked at her lower body to see if there was anything she wrong that she wasn't feeling because of the numbness the cold had inflicted on her. "I think I'm fine, thanks to you" Kiana said. She cuddled him more, showing her affection for what he did.

[Zeke]

"Well that's good," Hokori said, pushing himself closer to Kiana. "Hey Kiana, do you know where we are?" He asked, just realizing that they had strayed off course to the main den.
