" 'Morning, guys," Himili said, nudging her son and mate. "Up, up!"
"How's the weather?" Zuwa moaned.
"It's raining really hard," Himili said, too cheerfully for the occasion. Zuwa mumbled and turned over.

Alma cuddled up to Marrone so she could keep warm from the wind. She waited for Marrone to answer.

Delano ran as fast as he could through the jungle. When he tried to help Mheetu, they turned on him and attacked. He turned and fled, but not before they got a few blows on him. His body hurt as he ran, and no matter how hard he tried to run faster, they never fell further behind.

From a distance, Delano heard Tempesta say his name, and he turned towards her voice. He ran faster, but they still gained on him. Delano saw a log in his path and tried to jump over it, but he wasn't strong enough, and his legs gave away. He cried out in pain and fear as he hit the ground and waited for them to finish him off.

"Delano"... Again, Tempesta called for him. He tried to get up, but didn't have the strength. He collapsed again on the cold, wet mud. They were about to get to him...

His eyes opened quickly when he heard her voice next to him, this time much louder. "Wha- Tempesta!" Delano gave off a sigh of relief. His body shook from both the cold and his nightmare. He hugged Tempesta tightly, not wanting to let go, glad the she was next to him. "Just a bad dream," he told her softly, not wanting to alarm her. "Just... a bad dream."

He broke their embrace and looked outside. Rain was pouring down like the skies wanted to drop all the rain down before the end of the rain season. "Let's go see Mheetu. See how he is." Delano suggested. He got up, and shivered from the cold. He went over his dream, about running away from them. Delano realized that he didn't even know who the 'they' were. He shook his head and walked outside, letting the rain hit his body.

Marrone felt Alma by his side and he shook his head coming back to reality her voice made his ears twitch. He felt a slight shiver pass through his soggy furry body and his grey eyes looked down on his Queen. "Where did I go wrong Alma..i tried to discipline him. Teach him...hes my son. I can't bear the thought of what he pushed Maximus to do.." he said softly. He was tired, lack of sleep and the ending of the rainy season added icing to the problems they were experiencing.

Tempesta hugged Delano back tightly and her turqouise eyes gazed at him lovingly, "Lets go check on him..." she agreed padding beside Delano towards the gathering den. She saw Mheetu stretching and she smiled, "My mother always said a little blue will make the pain go away and heal you in a few days." she said with a slight smile. She stepped towards him and gently removed the dry leftovers and she looked to Mheetu, "You have to wash it out." she said pointing towards the den's entrance.

Mheetu smiled at the sight of Delano and Tempesta, "You mother sounds like a wise lioness, and Delano, I want to thank you my friend. You saved my life." he whispered softly. He flinched when Tempesta removed the dry herbs, he let out a tired sigh. Seeing her pointing towards the rain he shuffled towards the entrance of the den and half stepping into the rain. Feeling the cool rain made him flinch and caused his muscles to twitch from the jolt of pain, he stepped back into and shook off slightly. "I hate the rain.." he muttered.

Delano watched as Mheetu washed away the dry herbs and limp back inside the den. When Mheetu thanked Delano, his eyes widened. "But... you nearly died. I nearly let you die..." Delano said, and looked away, ashamed. "I saw you and Maximus get ready to hunt, so I watched you two from the jungle's edge. When he attacked you, well, I thought that he... tripped over you or something." he explained. Delano felt tears form over is eyes, and his vision blurred. "I should have acted sooner," he whispered. "You nearly died because I acted so slowly... I'm sorry, Mheetu."

Delano closed his eyes in shame. "I'm so glad that you made it through..." he said, "If you would have died... It would have been my fault..." In his mind, he recalled the nightmare again. Now he understood why they wanted to kill him: because he had let Mheetu die. Which was why when he woke up, he wanted to check on Mheetu right away. To ease his fears. Now, that Mheetu was alive, but hurt, Delano's fears closed in on him. His body shook from the cold again, this time both real and mental. "I'm so glad you're okay, Mheetu." He whispered again.

Alma nuzzled Marrone, "Your a great father just look at Addana, I dont know why Nyembe would do such a thing but somewhere in his mind he thought that was alright. I don't see how but we just have to discipline him a little more no matter how old he is if e asks so childish he deserves to be treated as a cub." Alma said.

Addana yawned and stretched, going through her morning routine of taking head count of her pride and getting ready for her daily duties. She prodded Jafar in the side just as she used to do as a cub. "Wake up," she said and prodded harder. She pouted and tried to roll him over. "Wake up!"

Jafar groaned irritably before actually waking up. Once he was up, he yawned. His eyes then focused on Addana. "What is it, Addana?" he asked. He hated being woken up this early.

"It's time to wake up," she said simply before moving to go poke other pride members. Once they were all awake, Addana set to grooming her fur in an almost obsessive manner. Her entire posture betrayed her nervousness.

Jafar went over to Addana and smiled at the lioness who, with her words, had made him a king. "Are you nervous about your father's announcement? If so, I'm here for you," he said. He then thought of their future. "I'll always be here for you," he added.
