Gyasi had not been a selfish leader,- on the contrary- but she had assumed that some of the lionesses in the pride would have tried to usher him ahead, though deep down she knew he would have made sure the others had escaped first.
She didn't even know what they'd do without a leader. Gyasi had been the one to calm them during rough patches, help solve disputes. Though the pride wasn't full of conflicts, without a leader, there would be serious problems. She knew there was no use trying to convince herself
"How about we go looking for him when... when the fire dies out?" Mnyama suggested. She was trying to hold herself together for the sake of her friends, but found it was harder than she thought.
