Simba slowed down when he heard the commotion behind him. He ran back to Nala just as she was getting ready to smash Zazu's had in. "Come on, Nala!" he said urgently, "it would be Awali's. Zazu didn't mean anything by it..." He hurried Nala along and glared at Zazu to take off again and lead them to the prints.

And after this entire thing would be over, he would have to have a talk with Zazu about a few things.

Kopa sighed when Awali slowed down, but was also annoyed. In fact, looking at Delano as well, he found it ironic how non of them looked anything but angry right now. He couldn't blame them. Right now Kopa felt like he can scream at the world, but was too tired to actually do it.

Turning back to where they were walking, Kopa began walking again, hoping that the dunes would go away already.

Nala was just about to grab hold of Zazu when Simba stopped her. She'd deal with him later. "What if it's not Kopa's?" The sentence played over and over again in her mind. They could be going the wrong way, and it could've been another cub's print. She shook the thought from her mind and kept following Simba.

Surprised by Nala's agression, Zazu decided to stay away from her, and glided slowly above the two lions.

Awali was trailing the cubs, falling behind quite a bit, while keeping them in sight. It was pointless from his point of view. "It's over, we're never getting out of here!" he moaned loudly. They had to be close, but what did it matter?

Nearing the end of the gorge, Zazu heard a whisper-like voice. It sounded distant, and it said "It's... We're... out... here..."

"Did you hear that?!" Zazu exclaimed, diving down towards Simba, still keeping his distance from the lioness.

Simba gave Nala a glare. "Come on, now," he told her, "Zazu's only trying to help. Don't make it even harder on him and yourself than it already is." He then gave Nala a quick lick to show her that he wasn't angry at her. "Zazu never let us down before," he added, "I don't think he will this time."

Delano had enough of Awali. Either the cub was showing off, or complaining, but either way, it was too much. He charged at Awali, knocking him over. "You never know when to shut up, do you?" He breathed into Awali's face. "Can't you ever keep that mouth of yours shut?"

Kopa heard the commotion behind him and quickly ran over, prying the two cubs apart. "It's hard enough without you two trying to kill each other," he said, "yes, it's hard. Yes, we're lost. And yes, I don't think we're getting out of here either, but we have to try!"

He gave Delano a slight shove before resuming his walk towards yet another dune.

Simba was surprised when Zazu dived towards them. "No, I didn't hear anything," he said, "where did it come from though?" He added, and began sprinting at the direction that Zazu pointed to.
