Laini smiled and hugged her two nephews after not seeing them for such a long time. "What are you two doing here?" Muroki hesitated, "We..." he started trying to find the right words. After a few moments their aunt finally noticed that something was wrong. Muroki decided to just say it, "Mom and dad are dead." Laini looked at them both with a shocked expression. It took her a few moments to realize the meaning of the words she had just heard. "Come with me." she said, deciding the den would be a more appropriate place to discuss things.

The brothers followed their aunt to the den in silence. Delano knew that there was no other way now, but he wanted to have a better reunion. But there was no going back now. In his mind, he went over various ways to tell Laini that her sister and brother-in-law were dead. He also knew that when it actually came time to explain everything, he most likely will not be able to pull off in actually saying everything he wanted to.

Laini went with her two nephews to the den and sat down there. She looked at them with a sad expression, "Do you know what happened?" Muroki hesitated, "Well.... N-not really..." he somehow managed to explain what they saw and that at first it seemed like bad luck. "We couldn't stay there..." he said, holding back tears once more. Their aunt then decided that talking about it was not a good idea, "You two can stay here for as long as you want." she said, hoping that the sadness they carried was only temporary.

Delano felt exhausted, even though he didn't do the talking. Just reliving the memories drained all his energy. When Muroki finished, Delano sighed. "And what's more," he added, "We checked their bodies. And mom and dad were..." he stopped, but forced himself to say it. "They were murdered." He whispered out. "They were killed by lions, but made to look like a snake bite."

Laini fell silent, trying to think who could have done such a thing. "The important thing is that the two of you are unharmed." she knew that her sister and brother-in-law would care about nothing beside that even if it meant risking their own lives. "Try to get some rest. I'll see what I can do to find you something to eat." She sighed and slowly left the den. The way her sister was murdered made her concerned about her son all of a sudden, but she didn't panic knowing that he was probably hanging out with his friends. She decided to look for her mate and see if he had caught anything.

Delano and Muroki were left alone in the den. Delano sighed and lay down, hopeful to get at least some sleep. His pitiful nap during the night didn't help much, and with any apparent danger over at the moment, both hunger and fatigue finally caught up to him. A he yawned, he asked Muroki, "So what are we going to do now?"

Muroki sighed, looking at his brother in the corner of his eye, "I don't know." he was too tired and hungry to think about anything. He brought his paw up to cover a yawn, before putting his head down on his paws. "Wonder where Kasi is." beside that he was a little curious to see how life went on when you were part of such a large pride. He figured that such a big den meant a large pride.

Delano yawned again before closing his eyes. "We'll figure something out." He muttered. And unlike the previous night, when Delano couldn't sleep no matter how much he tried, this time he was snoring almost as soon as he finally relaxed a little.


Kasi walked back in the direction of his den after spending a day with friends practicing all sorts of moves. But at first, he hoped to find his parents and see if they caught anything. If they didn't, he would help. On his way, he caught the scent of his mother and followed it. He spotted her stalking some prey, so he crouched down and moved over to her. "Hey mom. How's the day been?" He asked her quietly.

Laini looked at her son with a smile like she always did when he was around, "I sent your father to hunt but I can't find him. So I'm hunting myself just in case he tripped again." she chuckled, so happy to see her son that she nearly forgot about everything else. "What have you been doing today?"

Kasi smiled. "Oh you know, stuff." He said simply. He looked at his mother and saw that she looked different than normal. And not in a good way. "Did something happen?" He asked her, hoping that it wasn't to severe. Not to mention, normally, if his father wanted to hunt, they would let him no mater how much time it took. Only once they had to fetch him, and that was late at night. So for his mother to hunt at the same time... Something was off.
