Kovu began to wake up a bit and noticed the cubs. "Ah, my cubs," he said in a drowsy voice before sitting up and yawning. He then waited for Kiara to awaken fully.

Kiara woke, still half awake. "My cubs, where?" she said sleepily. She watched the 3 cubs walk up to her. "Good morning kids"

Shia whipped her head back at the sound of her mothers voice .. "Hey Mom" She excitedly.

"Morning Shia" Kiara replied sleepily, "And before you three start nagging, we'll go see the sun rise in two minutes"

Nguvu followed steps behind her, still drowzy from his nap. He said nothing, but smiled vaguely as he saw his mother.

Durba ran up to his mother "Good morning mom" said Durba. "Good morning Durba good morning Nguvu, wake up love, yesterday you were jumping around with excitement" she replied, she bent down and patted Nguvu's head. Kiara padded along side Kovu as they began climbing to the top of Pride Rock "C'mon then kids, I remember when my father showed me the kingdom" exclaimed. They climbed to the top of Pride Rock and they looked across the Savannah as the sun rose. "Isn't it beautiful" she whispered to Kovu. "So kids, this is our kingdom!"

Kovu smiled. "One day, this will belong to you," he told the cubs.

"Wow, really?" Durba replied enthusiastically. "Yes, it will belong to each and everyone of you" Kiara replied. However, she knew deep inside that soon she and Kovu would have to choose one of them, "But that's the future" she thought to herself.

Kovu continued to point out the various sights of the Pridelands to his sons and daughter, what was safe and where it was forbidden to go. He looked at Kiara. "You know, when I was younger, I never thought my life would end up this great," he said.

Kiara smiled. "I always knew had a future, but I couldn't off hoped for a better mate though" she said lovingly, she nuzzled Kovu. "Run along then kids, go see Uzuri or something" Kiara added. She watched as her children padded away.
