"Why?" Simba finally asked. "Why are you letting the Pridelands fall into ruin...and are willing to threaten my family to make sure it stays that way? Don't you see that by doing nothing, you are going to kill everyone! Even Scar will starve soon enough!"
He was trying desperately to see through his anger, to try and reason with this lion...he did not want to bring this to a full-on fight if he had to, but if this lion insisted on threatening his mother, he would have no choice but to do something to make sure he could not carry out his threat. He could no longer sit back and let his family starve.

"If we don't, they'll probably end up killing each other," Tanga finally said, reluctantly pulling himself from Nala's comfortable embrace, giving her a brief lick over the top of her as he did though, before getting to his feet, looking back to the source of the noise, which seemed to have died down recently. He still thought they should investigate, though...even if the disagreement appeared to be dying down now.
