Kuanguka smiled a little and curled up next to him.

[Adofo]

Adofo very gently petted her from her head down her back.
Adofo: They'll never hurt you again! they'll never hurt....my little girl.

[Iri]

Kuanguka fell asleep as he gently stroked her from her head to her back. His gentle words soothed her; and she felt better.
A paw with unsheathed claws was swiping at her. Even in her dream she felt searing pain. She saw blood dripping down onto the cold ground.
"Please, no! Stop!" she screamed. "NO!"
She woke up with a gasp. Hyperventilating. Her breath was shaky and rapid.

[Adofo]

Adofo: WHOA! Hey! Hey! Hey! Look at me! It's okay! Calm down! It's okay! It was just a nightmare!

[Iri]

Kuanguka looked at him and instantly calmed down. She sat down. "I'll b-be having n-nightmares about that un-until I g-get o-over it."

[Adofo]

Adofo: It's okay. You'll never have to worry about them ever again! You're MY daughter......and I'll always protect you!
Adofo gave her a long but gentle kiss on her forehead and laid down with her and pulled her in close.
Adofo: I'm so sorry about what all they did to you.

[Iri]

"I.... g-got used t-t-to it after a wh-while." Kuanguka curled up, feeling safe in his arms.

[Adofo]

Adofo: You'll never have to worry about that with me. I'll love you until the day I die!
Adofo moved her head onto his chest to let her hear his heartbeat.

[Iri]

[Remember, she's not agreeing to him fully adopting her. She's just giving him a "chance".]

Kuanguka sneezed and tumbled away from him, but then scurried right back up.

[Adofo]

(I know. He's just being sweet.)
Adofo: Hey.....you wanna go play?
