Mheetu felt Delano's large body knock him back into the dry grass and he roared in pain. His mossy green eyes narrowed at the two lions and he began to back away from them. "Is this a trick, are you trying to kill me?!" he growled in anger. He limped backed and froze a moment, fury passing through his eyes.

Tempesta quickly padded to Delano's side and looked over a Mheetu, she saw the blood and stepped towards him. "Let me help you..." she whispered. Her ears fell back to her cranium tightly as she noticed he was upset. "I wont hurt you...Mheetu.." she said softly. She heard his growl and stepped back towards Delano.


Mheetu shook his muzzle at Tempesta and slowly began to head back to the Pride, "Leave me alone.." he limped in anger. A bunch of ideas where flashing through his head and he kept his eyes open to make sure it wasn't a trick. Mheetu was moving slow and the blood was leaving a trail behind him, he could feel his body weaken.

Marrone stepped closer to Zuwa and inspected the little lizard between his paws. "Very good job." he said. Lowering his old body to the ground Marrone's grey eyes scanned for something else, he spotted a adult hare. "Zuwa the rabbit.." he said softly. He knew the cub wasn't quick enough to retrieve the hare, but it was good practice.

Maximus hit the ground, hard. "Get off of me and I'll tell you the TRUTH!" He roared, squirming under Delano's large body. Roaring as he felt his intestines being squished. "Mheetu! Come back." He trailed off, knowing he will be in trouble later. Delano got off of Maximus. "Okay, here's the truth." He whispered, looking down at the earth. "Nyembe, got jealous of Mheetu. He ordered me to rid of Mheetu. Or he'll hurt my family." Tears started to form in his eyes. "I didn't want them hurt." Whispering, still looking fowards at the ground. Never during this little conversation did he sit.

Vitani heard roaring coming from the trees, Was someone hurt? She asked herself, gasping. Starting to walk towards the comotion, she heard rustling in the trees. "Hello?" She asked the creature. Walking towards it, she heard it's panting and grunts of pain. "Are you hurt?" She asked the animal, as it was still locked in the trees. Coming towards her.

Mheetu's green eyes got blurry as he pushed through the thick bushes, he stumbled over a log. Feeling the pain get worse he laid there a moment taking a few breaths, he looked up at Vitani. He could barely make out the outline of her but he knew he was safe, "Tani..help.." he whispered softly. Laying his head back down he rested his head in the mud and fell unconscious from loss of blood.


Tempesta stepped beside Delano and her turquoise eyes narrowed at Maximus, "How could you..." she whispered softly. She sighed and shook her head, "Delano, what are you going to do about Nyemebe?" she asked curiously.

Addana froze as blood scent overwhelmed her senses. She stumbled, the sheer strength of it causing her to panic as she recognized the scent that came with it; an earthy scent with a bit of grass. "Pridelanders...." she whispered as she spun around in the direction she was coming to in an effort to get to where it originated as fast as she could. She almost ran straight into Jafar's chest as she sped past him, calling for him to follow her. She sprinted for a few minutes, bursting into the clearing and skidded to a stop, urgency almost physically radiating from her.

Before she could say a word, Mheetu stormed past her. She stared after him, at a loss for words. "Wha...?" she questioned absently, as the sheer unusualness of the situation struck her dumb. She was silent as she heard Maximus speak, brewing with fury first at him, and then at Nyembe. "THis has gone too far," she growled, more to herself than the others as she calmly walked away in the direction of the dens.

She walked undisturbed until she reached it. "Father! Mother!" she called, eerily serene. A half-forgotten phrase echoed in her mind. The calm before the storm...

Alma looked over at Addana it seemed urgent she trotted over to her, "Addana what's wrong?" Alma asked in a pnicy tone unsure of the situation.

Mheetu broke and ran. Without a pause, Delano chased after him, ignoring Tempesta's question.. He shouted behind him, "Tempesta, guard Maximus!" Up ahead, Mheetu reached the jungle, but his wounds prevented him from being able to run through it. Mheetu tripped and fell, which prompted Delano to run even faster.

When he reached Mheetu, the lion was already unconscious. He slowly picked Mheetu up and propped him on his back. Turning to the direction of the dens, something sharp and heavy hit his head, nearly knocking it over. Delano growled, and saw that it was Vitani. "Vitani! Relax! I'm helping him!" he shouted. Vitani, who was about to claw him again, slowly retreated a few steps, uncertain. "Run ahead. Get some help." Delano told her softly. "I'l be right behind you." He ignored the pain and the feeling of blood that her attack caused.

Vitani hesitantly turned and ran to the dens. Delano sighed and, with Mheetu on his back, followed her as fast as he could.

Marrone's ears twitched as he heard commotion down below, his grey eyes quickly looked to Zuwa. Moving rather quickly he ran by and scooped up the cub by his scruff, jumping down the large rocky ledges. He felt his paws stick into the thick mud around the dens and he sat Zuwa by his mother and his head turned towards Addana and Alma. "Whats going on..." he ordered loudly. His grey eyes caught sight of Vitani and Delano and he padded over to meet them halfway, "Is he dead!?" he asked worriedly. He watched Delano set Mheetu down and he looked to his champion, "Delano tell me what happened!" he growled upset.

Tempesta's eyes narrowed at Maximus, "Come on back to the Pride." she snapped following behind Maximus. Picking up the pace she padded ahead of Maximus and turned up next to Delano and Mheetu. She lowered her muzzle to his shoulder wound, "Himili can you get some herbs for his shoulder wound? its still bleeding." she said softly.

Alma looked at the king, and then at Delano, "What happened!" Alma said and waited for a response.

Delano felt the other's eyes on him, and he felt some fear grip him. "I... I don't know." He said. "I saw Maximus and Mheetu get ready to hunt. And Maximus... he attacked. He attacked Mheetu." Delano explained. "I intervened. Maximus... he said that..." Delano cautiously looked at Marrone. "He said that... that Nyembe forced him to attack Mheetu. That Nyembe was jealous of Mheetu, and threatened Maximus in order to get him to... kill Mheetu."

Without waiting for the others, Delano left, wiping off blood from his face. "I'm going to see Nyembe." he said. "Don't dare follow me." he growled out. He didn't feel like having to deal with anyone else at the moment.

Nyembe was resting on his favorite ledge, waiting for Maximus to return. "Soon, Mheetu will be dead and Vitani will be mine and mine alone," he thought to himself.
