[Closed] Trials in the Pridelands

Nala laughed at Mheetu, "Lionesses aren't so bad squirt!" she said playfully attacking Mheetu with her paw. She began tickling him and quickly stopped as she heard Mufasa announce tomorrow was the day she would be married. Her blue eyes watched Zazu fly off to warn the animals and she gulped slightly, it was going to be a big ceremony.

Mheetu giggled and growled at Nala as she tickled him, he quickly rolled back onto his belly and his green eyes looked up at his mom and dad. "One day, I want my own Pride.." he said looking up towards the sky. He looked at Sarafina, "Can I be King one day?" he asked curiously.

Sarafina looked down at Mheetu and there green eyes met and she frowned slightly, "My dear Mheetu. Such a brave boy." she said softly pulling him between her body and Shujaa's as they sat. "Your not of royal blood. A king isn't in your stars.." she added. She looked at Shujaa and nudged him to say more.


Mheetu frowned and looked at Nala, "How come she gets to be Queen one day. She gets to do all the cool stuff." he muttered under his breath. He looked up at the sky, "I can change my stars, right dad?" he asked.

"My son, listen to me. You cannot change your stars. However, being brother to the queen and brother-in-law to the king has its own rewards, such as the fact that you will be very close to the royal family. As well, you might even be chosen as one of the royal officials when you're old enough," Shujaa said, hoping that it would be enough.

Meanwhile, Simba had become nervous. Tomorrow, he would become a husband and a brother-in-law. "I hope I succeed in both," he said.

Mheetu frowned at his father's words, "I guess you can't change your stars.." he said sighing. The young cub laid to his belly and rested his head on his mother's paw.

Sarafina looked at Shujaa and looked down a Mheetu, she nuzzled her cub softly. "You will always be my King." she said with a soft smile. She lifted Mheetu up by his scruff and walked into the lion's den, she laid to her belly setting the cub between her paws. "A lion has never tried to change his stars, but maybe you could." she said looking down to her son. She licked his cheek and looked to Shujaa, "You know, Mheetu could be one of the first lions to change his stars." she added.


Nala saw Simba staring out at the Pride lands and she stepped beside him, "You'll be great." she said nuzzling his mane. She smiled and sat beside him, "We can do this.." she whispered.

Simba smiled at her. "Thanks. We both have a big day tomorrow. Tomorrow, I become your mate, and you become a princess and my mother's heiress," he said.

Nala nodded, "I hope i'll be a great queen one day. Make my mother and father proud." she said softly. Nala pulled herself to her paws as the sky got dark and the stars came out, "See you tomorrow. Goodnight." she said nuzzling him. Nala smiled up at the starry sky before stepping her way into the lion's den. She laid beside her mother and cuddled up with her family, "Goodnight mother." she whispered.


"Goodnight my princess." Sarafina said licking Nala's furry cheek. "You will do fine." she added before watching Nala fall asleep. Sarafina smiled hearing Mheetu fell asleep aswell. "Oh Shujaa, our babies are growing so fast." she said looking to Nala. Sarafina frowned down at Mheetu, "Hes got a free spirit, like his father." she said looking to Shujaa, "Do we let him decide if he wants to stay in the Pride lands?" she added.

"Yes, I think we should. However, I also think we should wait until he's older," Shujaa replied, knowing that Mheetu would be better able to understand what he was being asked at that time.

"Of course. Whens his mane is fully grown, we shall talk with him." she said softly pulling her small cub closer. Sarafina nuzzled Shujaa, "See you tomorrow. Its going to be a big day." she spoke. She rested her head on Shujaa's paws as she joined Mheetu and Nala in their dreamland.

The night passed and soon the sun began to rise. Simba rose early to get ready, as there was much to be done before the residents of the Pridelands arrived and Rafiki came to perform the ceremony. Simba was nervous but overjoyed as well.

Mufasa padded out of the den and yawned, he saw his son very worried and decided to take a glance. "Son, I know your worried, I was worried to, but look at me now. I'm a proud father!" He smiled , hoping to lighten Simba's spirits.

Simba smiled. "I know, but I want to be a good husband to Nala. I don't want to let her down," he stated.
