The trainer noticed that Delano and Muroki were slipping behind, so he had the others run ahead. "You two know each other?" He asked, unlike initially, he was much nicer this time. "Come on, keep up, there's not much longer." He ran back to the front.

Muroki was amazed that after slowing down like that the trainer also had enough strength to run back to the front.

Delano felt ashamed at how easily the trainer was able to catch up back to the front. "Come on, Muroki. Let's not finish last!" He panted out. "Just like when we came here..." He struggled to breath, "One step at a time!" He forced himself onward.

Muroki nodded at his brother and also brought up his pace, no matter how difficult it was for him.

They ran on for a long time, and Delano was beginning to lose feeling in his limbs. But he didn't dare to stop and give up. It gave Delano some comfort that even the trainer was starting to tire.

After running on top of a hill, the trainer slowed down and stopped, as did the others. "Alright, gather around," the trainer said after taking a while to regain his breath. "Look around you. This is what you are learning to protect. This land, and all those who live in it."

Muroki did his best to listen to the trainer but at the same time had to catch his breath.

"This place is different," The trainer continued to say, "For we managed to form a union with multiple prides to form one single nation. It is composed of many lions living in harmony with each other. This allows most to live their lives as they want to." He stopped and looked at all the trainees. "And you are entrusted to keep the peace."

Muroki said nothing, not knowing how the trainer would react if anybody interrupted him.

The trainer stopped talking finally and looked around. "Right, enough rest. Off we go again." He started running, and the others had to follow him.

Delano groaned when they started running again. He felt like they barely stopped and now started again.

Muroki also felt like groaning, but he didn't want the trainer or anybody else to hear so he didn't.
