Gakuru said nothing else to the lioness. Dakari said to Mzuri with a smile, "The cub's fine now." Marini had a hard time lying still as the lion kept hitting her cub.

The lion looked at Marini with a smile, "Where's your Mufalfa now?"

Marini wasn't letting her impatient show at all. "It doesn't matter, you're here now." she was going to earn his trust even if she'll have to pretend for months. Anything to keep her cub safe.

The lion pushed her down, "Yes I am." He then looked over at his cub with an evil grin, "Let me show you what to do when lionesses approach you."

Marini, while feeling sick to her stomach, did not let it show. It might take her months but this lion had to believe that she really loved him.

About an hour later the lion got up, making sure to beat Marini up pretty bad in the process. He looked at her son with an evil grin and said, "Next time maybe you will hate me enough to actually protect your mother."

The cub put his head down. Marini said to her son, "You don't have to." her son's mouth dropped open again.

The lion growled and said to Marini, "Shut up!" He then looked at her son, "That's how you treat lionesses boy."

The cub gulped. That seemed horrible, he could never imagine himself doing that.
