"Great Kings and Queens," Vitani gasped. She ducked down. This was all getting a little creepy. Simba and Nala both in the sky, that was. She closed her eyes, shivering, and then felt a tickle of warm breath on the nape of her neck, followed by a familiar scent that echoed her pangs. Nuka! Her head shot up, but there was no visage of Nuka in the sky. She sighed and breathed in the scent.
What are you crying for, termite? Nuka's voice echoed in her head, but it was more tender than it had ever been before. The Vitani I know would be strong, and happy for this moment. Just because I'm not on the earth doesn't mean I'm dead. You keep me alive by remembering me. Me and Kopa both. We both miss you, and it pains us to see how hurt you are. Overcom ethis quarrel of pain, and remember us happily, not sadly. That is the first pawstep on your path to recovery. After the words had faded, the scent of Nuka, and his warm presence both faded away. Vitani flew upward, ignoring the protesting pain in her paw, and looked around wildely. "Nuka! Kopa! Come back! Don't leave me this fast!" The words the two had spoken echoed in her head over and over. She was certain no one else had heard them.
"Kiara, I'll help you break free of Zira's grasp, I swear it," she whispered. Then she fell down, leaning against the rock, her paw cradled against her chest. The pain was panging sharply out of it. "Hakara," she breathed, whimpering. "Please, come here. I need you."
