Shahallie started towards them.

"Here, let me carry her." Shahallie proposed. "I'm the least hurt one here and Tiaret is still recovering."

Tiaret turned to Shahallie and dropped Vida on the ground (maybe a little to hard) in front of him and smiled.

"That sounds fair to me." Tiaret said.

Rachelley opened her eyes slowly and looked around for the other lions and her cub. Seeing that she was alone she struggled to her feet and started to walk off. She wasn't going to stay here and wait for them to get back. she snarled quietly then looked down at her son and smiled at him, nuzzling his side as she slowly walked away.

Saka growled as he followed Shahallie and Tiaret. Shahallie was too much of a threat, and Tiaret trusted him far too much. He began to wonder, maybe Shahallie was a better leader than he was. Maybe he was more fit for the job. His self-disappointment and pity was cut short as they discovered that the strange lioness had taken her cub and gone. "She won't make it far-she's too hurt." As much as Saka hated to admit it, Shahallie was right. The lioness and her cub would die alone. Saka began to sprint away from Tiaret, Shahallie, and Vida."Where are you going? Your pride needs you." Shahallie's words were like knives. Saka stopped abruptly,"The moment Vida awakes, take her and Tiaret across the stream-keep going, I'll catch up when I can." And with that, Saka bounded off.

Vida coughed, then opened her eyes as Tiarets voice sounded."I think she's awake." Vida climbed uneasily to her feet, her throat and eyes stung, and she could still smell the fire. She looked around,"Where's Saka." Grief overwhelmed her as Tiaret looked sadly at the ground."Is he dead." Her own voice was hoarse."No." It was Shahallie's voice,"He left."
Vida turned,"Why?"

"He went to find the lioness and her cub. They will die out there if we don't help them." Shahallie replied. He then turned towards the river.
"We're also supposed to go across the river. He said he will catch up to us."

Vida looked at the two with disgust.

"How could you two abandon Saka?! He's probably hurt from earlier! I'm not going to put my trust into a stranger and a weakling."

Tiaret glared at Vida.

"Weakling?" She scoffed. "I'm not the one who was carried for miles because she was foolish enough to go hunting where the fire cloud was obviously heading!"

Rachelley dropped Futenal and spun around snarling at the male lion who was chasing after her. "Go away!" she snarled crouching down, trying to hide her wince of pain.

Vida snarled,"I didn't protect a strange lion with my lion because I was to weak to kill him! You can't leave Saka!"
Tiaret started to say something when Shahallie cut her off. "Saka left, and told us to go." Tiaret leapt into the stream and paddled across. She climbed out and shook herself before throwing a rebellious glance at Vida,"Saka told me to go, and I'm going to listen to him, for once, even if I have to do it alone." She started to walk away quickly. Vida sat down and looked at Shahallie. She tossed her head toward Tiarets back,"Follow her-you owe your life." Shahallie smirked slightly,"So do you. You owe to Saka as well." Vida glared at him, then reluctantly plunged into the fast moving stream after Tiaret.

Saka slid to halt as the lioness turned and snarled. He flinched as she winced,"I came to, um, get you..." The words tumbled over one another. He sat down and looked at his paws. As she picked up her cub and started to walk away Saka called,"You won't last long-not hurt and alone."
She turned quickly and snapped,"I can take of myself. And my cub." Saka ventured a little further. "And what if you die, what becomes of your cub? What will happen to him?"
The lioness paused, as if actually listening to him. "Come with us, you don't have to stay once you're better, you don't have to trust me,"Saka added inaudibly,"Though I wish you would."

Rachelley glared at him snarling. She knew that he was right, but she couldn't just give in, not again... Not to another male that would just use her and then toss her aside when he got bored of her

Saka watched her consider her options silently. He frowned as the temperature increased dramatically. "Momma! Fire!" The little cub whimpered. The lioness turned, then grunted as a rock rolled down a hill and into her, knocking her into the stream below the cliff they were sitting on. Saka moved quickly, snatching the small cub by the scruff and jumping into the water below, after the lioness. He paddled over to the edge of the stream and deposited the cub on the grass. He looked into the cubs frightened eye,"I'm going to get your mom, okay?!" The cub nodded dumbly. Saka turned and looked frantically for any sign of the lioness. As she burst up, panting, Saka swam towards her. As she started to sink again, Saka dove under her and pushed her to the top. Saka pushed her onto the shore, next to her cub, who nuzzled her. Saka gasped for air, then slipped, being carried away in the swift current.

Rachelley gasped as she was pushed to the side of the stream. She looked around to glare at the male lion. She didn't need his help, she was an excellent swimmer herself, being raised from birth to know how to swim. Seeing him being carried along by the current she nuzzled her son into the stream and sighed. "Stay here Futenal, the water will keep you safe till i come back. Make sure you crouch low to the ground though." with one last nuzzle and lick she jumped in and paddled hard after the lion. She at least owed him his life.
