At the lion's calm reminder of what he had done, Simba staggered back as if he had actually been struck. "I...I don't care about that anymore!" he said, even if he was not entirely convinced himself. "If the Pridelands are becoming a barren wasteland under his rule, then he is not fit to be king, and must be overruled before the pride is killed, and a leader put in his place that will bring the Pridelands back to the paradise it once was...even if that king is not me."
He then regained some of his composure, his tone once more becoming low and dangerous. "But I stand by what I said before...I will talk to Nala in the morning, and no matter what, I will go back, and you can either help us, or leave us. I have no intention of killing Scar...he's my uncle...but he has to be stopped...the good of the pride as a whole always comes before the desires of any one lion, that is a king's first lesson!" He added efiantly, looking back to what little his father had been able to teach him before he had been killed. Simba's fate was sealed, and he knew it...but he could no longer sit back and do nothing, no matter what this lion said any more.

Tanga gave Nala an apologetic look. "Sorry to wake you...but there's others nearby...and I think they're close to a fight." He said, looking back towards where he had heard the voices coming from, before looking back at Nala, hoping that she knew what to do.
