Gakuru;s father said, "Now time for the cubs to die!" Suddenly a bloddy Mufalfa bit into Gakuru's father's throat and said, "RUN! Gakuru's father cannot be killed! Fight off the other liosn if you have to but run and hurry!"

The others did as they were told and ran. Dakari carried Mzuri on his back and Marini carried her cubs in her mouth. Fadhili somehow managed to keep up with them. The lioness also followed because she probably had no intention of staying back there.

MUFALFa released his mouth from his throat and ran as well quickly getting in front of Marini. "Run faster! They're coming!"

Marini couldn't answer Mufalfa with the cubs in her mouth. Her cubs weren't as small as they used to be and soon the female cub slipped out and fell. Gakuru however who was at the back of the group noticed that and picked her back up.

Mufalfa said to them, "Follow me." He soon noticed a wide gorge and saw a tiny log, "We have to cross it! Hurry!"

Gakuru noticed the log, 'I hope it will hold us.'

Gakuru's father was only a few hundred feet behind them, "You're all dead!" Mufalfa pushed Marini first. "GO!" He then pushed Dakari with Mzuri and Fadhili next.

Gakuru was the one to cross last after the lioness. Marini's cub was still in his mouth. Once past the log he put the cub down and began beating the log hard with one of his paws, so hard that his paw became bruised an even began bleeding, but the log broke before his father got there.

Mufalfa however was still there across the gorge with Gakuru's father. "Keep ruinning! I'll meet up with you later!"

Gakuru noticed that but he knew that Mufalfa had another way to meet up with them so he broke the log anyway. He picked the cub again and followed the others, not as fast as before because of his bruised paw but he was able to endure the pain.
