[Iri]

"I swear that never happened," Yekize said.
Arida started treating Ua's wounds but heard Yekize and Adofo's conversation. She delicately touched her small paw to Yekize's belly. "She is not expecting cubs," she confirmed.

[Adofo]

Adofo: How are you sure? It only happened a few days ago.

[Iri]

"A week ago," Arida corrected impatiently. "She's not expecting." She flicked her tail irritably and stalked back into her den. She continued treating Ua's wounds and walked out of her den again. "That's all I can do for now."
Another week later, Ua was slightly better. But Yekize's stomach hadn't grown one bit. Arida felt her stomach to be sure. "Nope. Not expecting." She walked to Adofo. "You should visit Ua. She told me it's lonely in there without anyone. Even I'm not in there much... I think you should see her."

[Adofo]

Adofo: Hey! Hey baby! How you feeling?

[Iri]

Ua coughed. She shrugged, not really sure what to say. She laid her head down on her paws, her eyes dull and bleak.

[Adofo]

Adofo: I'm sorry you got so beat up. I should have tried harder. I hope you know, I don't protect you to be a hero. I do it because I'm your father and I want too.

[Iri]

"I wouldn't believe that liar for an instant," Ua whispered.

[Adofo]

Adofo: You want to lay on daddy's chest? Like when you were little.

[Iri]

Ua weakly dragged herself next to Adofo. Her scratches didn't bleed but they stung. Tears of pain started to form in her eyes.

[Adofo]

Adofo laid on the ground and carefully laid Ua down his body. He put Ua's head to his chest.
Adofo: It's okay baby. Just relax and listen to Daddy's heartbeat!
