Mufalfa imediately licked her but when she was distracted he knocked her over the head and gently laid her down, "Gakuru get over here!"

Gakuru was about to ask Dakari what was the entire thing about when Mufalfa called him. He went over to him. Marini's female cub said, "Dad why did you hit mom?"

Mufalfa looked at his daughter, "For her protection. Gakuru you and Dakari take Marini and everyone else and get out of here now!"

Gakuru looked confused but he placed Marini on his back and walked over to where Dakari still was. Her daughter followed him but the son stayed behind with Mufalfa, "What's going on?"

Mufalfa said, "Your father is going to fight the bad lions not you."

The cub frowned, "On your own?"

Mufalfa said, "Yes but you needn't worry. I will meet up with you in a few days I promise." He was lying, "But you have to get to safety. Look after your mother for me."

The cub nodded and followed Gakuru. Dakari meanwhile nudged Mzuri, "Come on we have to go."

Mzuri asked, "Where are we going?"

Dakari sighed, "We have to leave before you know who arrives... He'll be here in a few days but the sooner we're gone the better."
