Delano was about to collide with Jafar, but his paws slipped on the wet mud. He fell over, but his momentum carried him into Jafar, who was unable to stop Delano's fall and both of them fell and rolled around.
Jafar was back on his feet in an instant, but Delano was unable to stand back up so quickly. Jafar took the opportunity to charge again. Delano was only able to barely avoid another collision with his brother. He dodged to the side, and turned towards his brother. By now, Delano was panting, and he desperately wanted to lye down and rest, but he couldn't. He needed to win in order to get Marrone's permission to marry Tempesta. In the sidelines, the others were saying something, but Delano couldn't make out their words anymore. All his concentration was on Jafar as his brother attacked again.
Delano's muscles protested as he dived off to the side, again avoiding Jafar. He knew that it was over. Jafar was still able to attack whenever he wanted, and Delano could only wait for the next move. He was too tired to attack anymore, and soon would tire too much to defend himself as well. But he will not give up. If he would lose, he would go down fighting...
He blinked as Marrone stepped in the middle of the ring. The king stopped the fight. It was over. Delano just stood there, panting heavily, to tired to move. He nodded to Jafar, acknowledging his brother's victory. His legs felt like they were made of wood, so Delano dropped to the ground, resting. Tempesta came over and they nuzzled. "Thanks," he told her after her compliment, in between pants, "but I lost." His heart sank when he realized what his defeat meant. He placed his head on his forelegs and closed his eyes.
