Siri poked her tongue out at Dakari at the declaration that her 'monster' was a fish. She hopped out of the water and sat on the drier ground. "Yeah, well, fish are evil" she responded, under the impression that she was right about these things. She flicked her tail around for a few moments before looking up at Dakari. "Will you teach me to swim soon, Dakari?" she questioned with hopeful eyes. She probably would have asked him rather than her mother even if she was alive; her mother had hated water almost as much as Mjuvi did, although Mjuvi never admitted it.

The adolescent sighed for what felt like the hundredth time that day. "I would suppose a leopard or a cheetah has made this area as part of their territory, but if we all stay together, which we will, it wouldn't be a threat" he replied thoughtfully. While he was often far from serious, Mjuvi felt that his insight on the way he saw things may help for today at least.

When Siri poked her tongue out at him Dakari chuckled before giving his little sister a big, slurpy lick on her face, as if to return the gesture. She was just too cute when she was grumpy and he couldn't help himself. "Sure." he said with a smile. "I don't see a reason why not." True, Siri was just a cub, but she would be safe if he or one of their other siblings was there to keep an eye on her whenever she entered the water. "Not today, though. Okay?" He would rather wait a little until they were more familliar with where they were and of what animals lived around them.

While Laini has never met another species of large cats in her life, she had a pretty good idea of how one of those might react towards tresspassers. However, Mjuvi was probably right that shouldn't be a problem if they remained together. Dakari was practically a young adult male, so him being with 2 adolescents would most likely be enough to deter any hostile individual. It seemed to make sense, and Laini hoped there wouldn't be any trouble. "I hope so..." Not knowing whether there was a threat nearby or not was the worst thing at the moment. They were still new to the area.

Siri rubbed her face with her paw and pretended to be disgusted for a moment; her fake disgust faded when he agreed to teach her to swim. She made a noise that sounded like a yay and jumped up to hug her brother's foreleg. She had expected him to say not today, so she wasn't too dismayed. "Okay" she replied with a smile, clinging onto him for a moment before sitting again.

Mjuvi gave his litter mate a supportive grin, moving towards her and giving her a little nuzzle. "I'm sure we'll be fine" he said optimistically. He walked towards Dakari and gave him a more sincere smile. "Maybe you and Laini should try and get a kill? Some fresh meat might make us all a little perkier" he suggested. He knew he was a little hopeless at hunting, and Laini was probably better than him.

Smiling warmly at his sister, Dakari placed a paw over her little body as she embraced his leg. If it would make Siri feel good then he was more than willing to oblige, especially when considering that they'd all lost their mother. The cub was more cheerful now, but Dakari figured she wouldn't forget about the tragedy. Looking at his brother, Dakari knew that they would need to find food sometime soon.

Laini couldn't help but smile as Mjuvi nuzzled her, feeling better thanks to her brother's reassurance. Even though he could be rude and annoying at times, he always seemed to be able to lighten up her mood.

Dakari knew that he wasn't a natural at hunting. However, with some help, anything was easier. "That's a good idea." he said, nodding. "Laini, you could chase our target towards me and then I'll try to take it don by surprise." It would be much easier than just chasing their prey.

"Sounds good." Her older brother was obviously bigger and stronger than she was. He'd have a way easier time killing their prey than she would.

Siri licked her lips at the prospect of food; she was just as meat driven as any lion now that she was weaned off her mother's milk. She listened in awe as her older siblings talked of how they would do it. She couldn't imagine herself as a huntress one day, even though she loved chasing insects. Mjuvi smiled gratefully at Dakari; even if they didn't see eye to eye in the past he knew how to organise himself and the rest of them for that matter.

"The herd of wildebeest I saw this morning moved off in that direction" he raised a paw and gestured towards a low grazing area of the plains, behind a group of trees which were probably concealing the wildebeest. "It shouldn't be too hard to bring one down" he murmured. He assumed it'd be quite easy if they found a weaker member of the herd; the wind was still in their favour as well. "I'll look after Siri. We'll stay near the tall grass. It wouldn't wise for us to have the kill near our den, so we could just have it here" he suggested. For his young age, he had some logical thinking.

Dakari listened to Mjuvi attentively, finding a lot of sense in everything his younger brother was saying. He semed to be mostly impressed by the adolescent's suggestion to not take the kill to their den. "That's... true. I haven't thought about that." Credit was to be given when it was due, he believed. "Nice one." he said with a smile, nudging Mjuvi's shoulder with his paw. "If you hear anything that gives you even the slightest reason to worry, then you can hide in the grass." The young adult hen looked at Siri, smiling down at her. "And you, young lioness." he chuckled. "Behave."

Laini went over to Mjuvi, giving her brother a quick lick across his cheek. "Keep an eye on her." she said with a smile. "And on yourself..." She knew just how risky it was to leave the two of them on their own. Still obviously hesitant, she joined Dakari as the two of them headed off in the direction Mjuvi had instructed them to take.

Mjuvi pretended not to be too thrilled with the fact his brother hadn't thought of his idea. He grinned and nodded at what he responded with. "We'll be fine" was all he said back. Siri rubbed against Dakari's leg a little before he moved away, leaving her sat next to the water line. Mjuvi mumbled an agreement towards his sister, though he did not agree on caring too much about himself. He watched them walk off for a moment before looking back at his cub sister.

The adolescent flopped down beside Siri onto his back, and pulled the cub onto his chest. He booped her nose with his paw. "So, Siri, want to try and catch some crickets while they're gone?" he asked. She nuzzled his face, beamed and nodded enthusiastically. "Yeah!" she exclaimed. He grinned and allowed the cub to hop off him. "Well, first one to find a cricket by here wins!". She began looking straight away; Mjuvi had to keep her occupied somehow, while still keeping his eye on her.

Was going to. ^^
Aww, Siri and Mjuvi are really cute together when he's being all soft... :3

When Laini saw Siri and Mjuvi playing later she couldn't help but giggle at the sight. It appeared Mjuvi had gotten too comfortable with her and Dakari gone. "That's just so sweet!" she said, walking over to her siblings and licking her brother's cheek again. She was about to nuzzle her sister, but the cub was already running towards Dakari, who had a dead wildebeest on his back. "We totally nailed it." she added, smiling proudly.

Dakari had feared, despite how hunting with someone was much easier than hunting on your own, that he would still somehow screw Laini's and his hunt up. However it was kind of hard to not catch their prey when it was obliviously running directly at him. "Laini deserves the majority of the credit." he said, placing their kill down before nuzzling Siri. "I see you and Mjuvi had fun." he chuckled. "Are you hungry?"

Mjuvi shrugged Laini off, but let a smile spread across his face. "Whatever, just keeping spirits up" he responded, trying to sound half-hearted but failing miserably. Siri collided with Dakari's leg, giving it a nuzzle before Dakari ended up nuzzling the cub back. "I bet you both did great!" Siri exclaimed; she of course didn't have much clue of the effort that went into a hunt.

"Yeah, me and Mjuvi caught crickets" she started, Mjuvi rolled his eyes but smiled fondly at the recent memory. "I'm starving" she complained as Dakari placed the kill. She sniffed at it. for a moment and waited for someone else to tear the skin for her. Her little teeth couldn't do much damage through wildebeest fur just yet.

Laini giggled at Mjuvi's antics. Her brother was kind of cute when he was trying to pretend he wasn't as soft as he could be from time to time. "Well you're really good at it of you ask me." she said, sitting down next to her brother. Dropping the smile, she continued in a less teasing voice. "It means a lot to me that you and Siri are getting along more swimmingly, especially now... Same thing about Dakari, too."

Dakari couldn't help but chuckle as his little sister told him of how she and Mjuvi had occupied themselves while he and Laini were gone. Be knew just how much the cub loved to chase insects. Gently poking her tummy as she complained, informing him of her hunger, he went ahead and tore the skin off in one of the areas where the 'best bits' of the meat were. "You two should eat as well." he said, looking at Laini and Mjuvi. First of all he'd let them have their fill and then eat himself, just in case the meat wouldn't be enough to fully satiafy all of them. Siri had to eat as much as she needed to more than the rest of them.
