For a second Shinova just stared at the lioness peering at him. Shinova stood up walked toward the lioness, and sat down. "I'm a nobody. What is there to live for? My parents are dead, my pride is a joke, and life couldn't get any worse." Shinova replied in a melancholy tone.
"I guess it counts for something, but what have I to live for? I have no family, no home, and really no purpose." Shinova explained. "My life is nothing but a sad memory. If only I had purpose then I would feel better, but what purpose could I possible be for?"
Shinova laid back down. He felt worthless, and couldn't help but feel that he wished someone would just show him a hint of purpose.
Shinova was caught off guard by the lioness and rolled over. Shinova, a very curious cub, liked to ask questions even when he felt sad. "What do you mean? Do you not like your king?" Shinova asked shyly. "Did they do something to hurt you?"
Shinova went with her, but he kept feeling like there was something that she wasn't telling him. He couldn't see how she could have something against a King that had such beautiful land. Shinova recalled his old pride where the land had become barren, and the King had refused to leave the land.
Though troubled with confusion Shinova finally felt a sense of belonging; like he had something too look forward too. As they walked he continued to have flash backs of his parents. He remembered his father standing up to the King, because he wanted a better life for his son; his mother's final stand in attempt to protect her mate and Shinova. It kept playing over and over in his head until he asked Nova, "You mentioned new King right? What happened to the old King?"
"Oh uh, mine name is Shinova. I have to ask though; Why was the son of the previous king exiled?" he questioned. As he waited for a response he saw a large rock. He thought to himself, "What in the world is that? I have never once seen something so magnificent."
