Simba's face took on a determined look. "Then I am fully prepared to defend my family, my friends, the Diamond Palace and everything else dear to us," he stated. He grinned. "I will intensify my training as much as I need to," he declared.

Mufasa smiled. "I am proud of you, Simba. You have the courage to stand up to those you love when I never did."

Simba smiled. "You always taught me that I'm to use my abilities to defend those in need. I think protecting us and the village counts," he said with a slight chuckle.

Mufasa nodded, chuckling. "Yes, I think that counts." But his gaze grew serious. "Simba, I am so sorry to burden you with this at such a young age. But if I cannot defeat Scar, you must."

Simba nodded. "I understand, Father. But how am I supposed to beat such a superior fighter?" he asked.

"Look deep inside yourself, and you will find the power," Mufasa said gently.

OOC: Zira's still in the palace isn't she?

Meanwhile, Zira was secretly listening closely to what Mufasa was saying to his son. She had crept into the hall-way and was listening. "Scar...?" Zira's smile dropped to a frown. She was suddenly very worried. Mufasa was teaching Simba how to kill Scar? Zira was now not happy. She turned around and ran out the door, slamming the door behind her.

Simba nodded at his father, and then moved off. He then looked back at Sarabi. "Well, Mother, I am ready to do what must be done. Scar won't be harming the valley or the village while I'm around," he stated.

"We are glad, Simba," Mufasa rumbled. "But for now, you must train. Perhaps Vitani would like to spar?"
