Spurred on by the voice, Simba did think. "Nala's here because she wants help in getting the Pridelands back, and she finds me...but I can't help, and I want her to stay. If I go back, I'll have to tell her everything, which will mean turning her against me...but if I stay, she'll leave, and I'll lose her anyway."
He looked towards the clearing where he had last seen Nala. "And there's him as well, whoever he is..." his thought train got sidetracked as he turned around, still unable to find the source of the voice hiding in the shadows. "Do you have any idea who that lion is...or why Nala's so fond of him?"
----------
Tanga stopped dead as Nala as she said the three words Tanga would never have expected to ever hear directed at him...except that one time he and Kulinda made the loving exchange of words. At first, Tanga thought she was joking with him, but he dismissed that thought as his brain registered the contented passion in the words, telling him she was being sincere, despite their very brief meeting.
As Nala gave him a kiss with equal passion, Tanga contemplated his feelings towards Nala, trying to remove any bias her similarity to Kulinda produced. But in the end, Nala's kind nature, regal beauty, and dismissive attitude towards Tanga's small, shy nature had him convinced. She might be a lot like Kulinda...but Nala was not Kulinda, and Tanga did not care either way, as he once more returned her kiss, putting his own passion and love into it.
when they finally came apart once more, Tanga stared happily into Nala's eyes...the aspect of her appearance that he loved the most, because it uniquely her...purring lightly even as one small issue came up. "I love you, too, Nala...but what about this other lion? What will you do now?"
