He stilled glared at her, "enough excuses Kiara, it's the same thing all the time with you. Go inside the den and stay there until you decide to grow up and stop being reckless."

"Daddy..." she said her ears flat against her head, tears falling down her face as she ran off into the den

"I think you were a little hard on her," Nala commented.

Simba whirled around at her angrily, "how could you say that?! Did you not realize what could have happened? What, have you forgotten already what we went through? Kiara's all we have left and I'm not going to lose her! Have you already ignored the fact that we lost a cub once?! You may have forgotten about Kopa, but I haven't. I'm not going to pretend that everything is fine!" Simba sat there breathing heavily as he stared at Nala. She was looking at him, her eyes full of hurt, a tear falling down the side of her face.

"No Simba... I haven't forgotten," she whispered as she walked away, "it haunts me everyday."

Kiara heard the shouting inside the den, then the fall teardrops, not her own, she looked around seeing hr father sitting there, she ran out realising who he had been shouting at
"FATHER" she growled defensively as she ran out between her mother and father "What is this about?" she demanded, unmoving getting ever more defensive

"That is not true!" Nala shouted between tears, "I care about her safety as much as you do but we can't baby her forever, she is a grown lioness now!"

"A lioness that can't defend herself! She can't even hunt!"

"And who's fault is that?! You are the king, you're supposed to teach your heirs how to rule the kingdom! Just like Mufasa spent hours teaching you!"
