Marrone's grey eyes fell on Addana as she managed to find him, "Good Morning. How is it we never get to talk anymore, I know we've been busy. But theirs always time for us to talk." he said with a smile. He stepped forward and ushered Addana to walk with him to the grasslands, "Whats troubling you Addana, you seem so distant." he asked curiously. He remembered her as a cub, so curious about everything he use to do; always asking why. He stared at Addana studying her a moment, she was so different from Nyembe. Nyembe was always at Alma's side, but Addana was his little shadow. He smiled and nuzzled Addana, "You know ever since you were a cub, you were always around me. Even more then your mother, you were my little star." he said tapping the top of her head with his paw gently.

Addana allowed herself a small smile but grew serious. "Father, the thing that troubles me is fear. I am afraid for the pride. After you relinquish the throne, Nyembe will claim it and I fear he will be a terrible king." She gazed back into the direction of the dens were she knew her brother was more likely than not bothering some poor lion. "I know it is not my place t request this but could you perhaps wait a few more seasons before crowning him? He needs more time to grow in maturity so he does not lead us into a famine or something of the like." Addana knew as secondborn, she would never be Queen but she felt it was her responsibility to make sure the fate of the Nero Pride was secure and she knew that would never happen as long as Nyembe still possessed every ounce of immaturity that should have been long gone since his upcoming entrance into adulthood.

Marrone stepped out into the dry grasslands and reclined back to his hinds taking a few breaths, he looked to Addana. "I'm tired Addana and I'm aging everyday." he said softly. He noted the seriousness in her voice and sighed, knowing she was right about one thing; Nyembe's immaturity. He looked to Addana, "Addana, every King has to fail in order to grow. Its how we learn to make better decisions." he said wisely. "My father lead half of our Pride to death, their first rainy season. It was a terrible tragedy, but we learned. Nyembe's just...I don't know what it is with that boy." he grumbled looking up at the dark sky. Marrone pulled Addana close to him and hugged her with his large paw, he lifted it up and ran it over the lands. "What have you been decideing you wanted to do with yourself?" he asked curiously.

Addana nodded while he spoke, knowing that he was right. She smiled ruefully. "Seeing as Nyembe is not that fond of me, it is only a matter of time before he makes me leave the Pride. After that, well, only the Great Kings of the Past know my path." She gazed out over the lands, looking into the distance where she knew many uncharted territories lay. But even though her eyes rested on the small figures of Sarafina, Dyana, and Shujaa's departing backs, only a tiny speck in the far distance, her mind was elsewhere.

Marrone sighed at her words, they stung his heart his own blood sending the rest of his family away. "I refuse to let that happen Addana, if you were firstborn I would've handed you the crown today." he said looking down on his daughter. "Family doesn't do that to one another..." he grumbled looking out onto the plains. "Well things will change around here, even if I have to keep reminding everyone until I pass on. We need to stop fighting each other and start acting like a Pride or well never survive."

Alma walked up to Nyembe, "Hey, so how did it go with Vitani?" Alma asked wondering if they hit it off at all.

Nyembe sighed. "Well, I didn't get any closer to making her like me. I can't understand why," he said, nuzzling his mother.

Addana sighed. "Father, Nyembe and I may share blood, and he may be my only brother whom I have shared cubhood with, but we are barely friends, much less family. He will not hesitate to do what is best for him." She turned away, lost in thought of what would become of her if Nyembe became King.

Alma looked down on Nyembe, "Well did you find out what she likes to do or what's her favorite color or something about her?" Alma asked seeing her son didn't make much progress.

Nyembe sighed. "I was asking her if she had any siblings, and she told me that she had a brother named Simba and I said that if we married, I would take her to the Pridelands so she could see them," he said.
