[Closed] Trials in the Pridelands

Zazu had gone to find the girls under Mufasa's orders. Finally, he found Vitani, but she was being either confronted or threatened by Zira. The hornbill landed in a spot where he couldn't be seen. He heard Zira's words and wondered how Vitani was going to react.

Vitani exhaled then growled at Zira. "I am Mufasa's daughter! I know who I am!" He paused. "What are you trying to tell me?!" She yelled, echoing the gorge. She dug her claws into the ground. Still protecting her kill from the skinny lioness.

As Nala proceeded to drag her kill through the dusty gorge she heard a echoing of laughter, "What hyenas...in the gorge." she thought. Pausing she quickly dropped her kill and stood still, blue eyes scanning through the dust and she let out a soft roar, "Come out you stupid poachers, this is one kill you won't be stealing." she warned. The lioness flashed her claws and set one paw ontop of the wildabeest calf, today was turning out to be a wild one. Hearing the sound of paws moving she also saw shadows around her, were they closing in? she wondered.

It had been sometime and Sarafina made her way to Mufasa and the others, "Mufasa, i saw movement in the gorge. Has Zazu returned yet?" she asked with a hint of concern in her voice. Green eyes looking to Shujaa and then Simba, she had a pain in her stomach. The older lioness paced back and forth as they waited for their daughters.

"I don't think Zazu's returned yet," Simba said. He was just as worried as everyone else. "I just wish there was something I could do," he added.

Just then, Rafiki arrived on the scene, seemingly out of nowhere. "The great kings tell me that the young lionesses are alive. However, Nala is under attack in the gorge, and Princess Vitani is about to learn a terrible truth about her past," the mandrill told the pride.

"Darling, I am your mother. You were taken from me by that Mufasa," she clenched her teeth while saying the name, "And I've been here this whole time, watching my own daughter grow up without her mother. And to think that I could've taught you how to hunt! Your posture, your timing-- it's all wrong! But the point is, you are my daughter. And Scar's too.

"I am-" She paused. "-NOT your daughter!" She growled, showing her teeth. "If I am, you need more proof!" She yelled, birds flying over-head. She couldn't believe her. Mufasa and Sarabi raised her, since birth. She was theirs.

Nala could hear the rustle of movement and laughter then from a ledge she notcied a skinny dark figure, "Oh no..its a trap.." she growled. Nala took a few steps back and dragged her kill with her, the lioness growled in warning.

Sarafina heard Rafiki and she panicked, "Nala...NO!" she roared and bounded off into the direction of the gorge. "I wont lose my daughter.." she yelled back to them. Sarafina eyed the gorge it seemed so far away and she pushed herself forward, the old lioness had fear in her eyes.

Shujaa took off after Sarafina. "Wait for me!" he shouted. He would not let his daughter be attacked without a fight. He was ready to do battle with any threat.

"More proof? Well, ask your "father" yourself. If he confirms what I say, I will be here to discuss it with you. And if not, you can be on your merry way, with this meeting forgotten. Ask him. Just see what he'll tell you." Zira smiled. Mufasa was a truthful lion, and would tell Vitani who she was.

"Ah, Nala," said Scar, moving through the thick grasses. He and his son growled, and motioned to the hyenas. Nala would be theirs.

Nala stepped backwards a few steps and she noticed a few more shadows surround her and the laughter got louder. "Come out you cowards!" she growled. The young lioness inhaled deeply before bringing forth her claws, then she noticed the hyenas making their way down the rocky walls towards her. "Oh No...theres so many." Nala gulped and ran deeper into the gorge. She could hear the barking and snapping at paws and she turned around clawing one in the face. Slash marks left behind she backed up and looked towards a rocky ledge and tried to find a easier way up.


Hyenas: Seeing the 'future queen' alone backed into a corner they made their move launching themselves after her. Teeth ready to bite and were prepared to do damage, 'Kill her' were the words used. 'Kill her'.

Nala felt the teeth of a hyena bite into her leg and she roared ripping the laughing dog off, "Back off.." she growled in pain. The young lioness clawed her way towards the ledge but she had a small limp.


Sarafina made it to the gorge and saw the hyena's attacking Nala, "Nala...hold on.." she growled and started to leap down the rocky ledge towards her daughter. Time was of the essence and Sarafina jumped off the ledge tackeling a hyena to the ground. "Nala..get out of here..." she ordered.


Nala saw her mother and she leaped for the ledge pulling herself up, she slowly tried to climb her way out of the gorge. She jumped up to the next ledge and felt a tug as a hyena bit onto her tail trying to yank her back down. A angry roar as Nala held onto the rocky ledge her claws sliding quickly, "Mom..help me.." she called.
