The new danger in the land

Tua: That's true! You boys will have your daddies mane! The best in the land!

Vitani: Nothing.....it's just.....you had promised your heart to another. YOu had a cub with her. ....And I adore Siari! I love her with all my heart! But.....even if you say it.....how do I know.....you truly love me? To me.....you're my soulmate. But...since you still really miss her...I'm probably not yours....am I? It's okay.....growing up.....I thought I'd be lucky if you....ever loved me at all.

Marini was about to point out Mufasa's black hair tuft at the tip of his tail (he resembled her not only in fur color. He had her blue eyes as well, too) but decided to allow the pale cub to enjoy what his father was saying, even if he was obviously going to grow a black mane one day...

Looking ahead of them, Kopa let out a soft sigh. "You can't expect me not to miss her..." he said softly. After all, like Vitani had said herself, they'd had a cub together. "This wasn't easy for me, you know... When we got together..." The prince let out another sigh. "I couldn't shake off the thought that maybe this was too soon after Siari's mother had died or that maybe I shouldn't find another mate at all..." He hugged his mate gently. "I care about you so much, I really do..." Did she... not believe him when he said this?

[Adofo]

Tua: Come on. It's time for lunch! The lionesses are bringing back food. Lets go eat!

Vitani: I don't expect you to stop missing her.....I just want you to understand...from the moment we met, I loved you! You haunted my dreams! I drew pictures of you.....you were my everything! Then you left.......and it shattered my heart. I was so excited to see you finally come back........then I saw Siari on your back. .....I ran off and cried the rest of the day. Knowing......I wasn't your soulmate.
She started to cry.
Vitani: Sorry! I have to go!
She ran off.

(Okay I have to say this. What Vitani just said is literally making me cry. I am man enough to admit that.)

"Yay!" Mufasa jumped off of his father's head and quickly followed his parents back down.

Kopa stared after Vitani in shock for a few moments before running after her. "Vitani, wait!"

(The last time they'd seen each other was as cubs. He was a little boy... <_> And she was in exile when he left as an adolescent)

[Adofo]

(That doesn't mean they couldn't love. I've been in love with the same girl since I was in kindergarten. I'm just to big of a coward to say anything.)

Tua: Marini....I hope i didn't upset you earlier. I hope you don't think I want to put our sons in any danger! I just...thought it'd be fun! And if anything happened I'd protect us. But.....I guess you were right for us not to go there. It was just another dumb idea.

Vitani stopped. But her head was hanging low and she was still crying.

(It doesn't, but look at Simba and Nala when they were that age, for example. I thought It'd make Kopa more like his father.)

Marini looked at Tua with a small smile, licking his cheek. "It's fine... Just don't take them there..."

Kopa caught up to Vitani and embraced her gently, nuzzling her and licking the tears off her cheeks as he did. "Vitani, please don't cry..." he said quietly, feeling himself getting a little choked up as well. Seeing her like this was devastating for him. "Please... Is there anything I can do?"

[Adofo]

(True. But everyone is different. Someone could fall in love at age three and die together when they are 103.)

Tua: You mad at me!?
He said in a playful voice with the face to match

Vitani kept crying before looking up and opening her tear filled eyes
Vitani: I just....don't know. And.....maybe you're right.....maybe we rushed. .......Kopa......do you know what my mother did to me?! My whole life she trained me to be hard and a fighter. I was only a pawn to her. When Nuka was dying she seemed to care so much even after all the torment she put him through! When I sided with the Pridelanders.....do you know what she said!? She said word for word......"Then you will die as well!" With a hug grin across her face! Her own daughter!!! She was willing to kill me with the biggest smile on her face! I was nothing! And I still am! ...I was dumb to think anyone at all could ever love me!

(The thing with Vitani that happened in the movie with her mother is actually pretty screwed up when you think about it. I mean....It's your VERY loyal daughter! Who did EVERYTHING you ever asked her to do! And you threaten to kill her with a giant smile on your face!? I never really noticed how dark that scene was.)

(I noticed. That's how my Kopa fanfic starts with - that scene, but the scenario is AU (alternate universe) and turns out differently...)

Marini chuckled. "Maybe... I just might have to punish you." she said with a grin.

Kopa shook his head, holding Vitani more tightly. "You're not nothing, not to me... You and Siari are my everything!"

[Adofo]

Tua: Oh no!
He said playfully

Vitani: .......Thank you! .....And Kopa....please don't think I'm happy or anything about her mother dying. Because...you're my true soulmate...and if you would have been happier with her than with me...I'd be okay with it.

Marini shot her mate a playful glare as they entered the den. "Go on, boys, eat."

Kopa shook his head before licking Vitani's forehead lovingly. "I'm not going to compare the two of you..." he said. "You gave me a chance to love again and I'm grateful for that..."
