[Closed] Trials in the Pridelands

Sarafina nuzzeled Shujaa, "I know, me too." she said watching the lionesses get ready. Sarafina laid onto her belly on the warm ground as the sun rose over them and she sighed, hopeing they did fine on their own.

Nala looked to Vitani, "Are you ready to go?" she asked softly. Nala's blue eyes scanned the landscape trying to spot any movement from the antelope or gazelle. Nala stretched and brought forth her claws stretching her claws in preperation, she waited for Vitani.

"Yeah, totally ready." Vitani trailed off. Her eyes shot around the Pridelands searching for prey, or where they could start.

"Okay lionesses, in a few moments. You will start your first hunt!" Mufasa said coming out of the cave, proud of Vitani and Nala. He shoke his mane and stood beside Sarabi.

Simba watched, eagerly awaiting the beginning of the girls' first hunt. "They'll do great. I just know it," he said to himself.

Nala nodded to Vitani and Mufasa, "Okay Tani, lets go." she said quickly and padded into the pridelands. Keeping her nose close to the ground she listened for the sounds of prey all around her. Her blue eyes noticed some antelope by the watering hole but the herd was small and she wasn't satisfied. She kept looking and kept moving forward through the thick grass, blue eyes locked on the herd of wildabeests by the gorge. Nala knew she was close to the edge of the Pridelands,but she also knew a wildabeest would make her mother and the pride proud though. Nala turned to Vitani, "Look at the wildabeests by the gorge, we can grab one before it goes down there. Just be very quiet Tani, you come from the front and ill attack from the side. Lets make them scramble with fear." she growled softly.

The eager lioness watch Vitani make her way towards the herd and she inhaled deeply. She flashed her claws and silently stepped closer and closer to the grazing herd, hidden behind a few rocks she noticed a tree further down before it dipped into the gorge. Nala was taught to always look for a escape route if something bad should happen, she watched the herd graze. Nala inhaled once more before making her move towards the herd, she was too eager and slipped up kicking a rock; she froze.

Wildabeest herd: The mother wildabeest looked up at the unfamilar noise the sun was in her eyes but the figure of a tan lioness stood out. Panicking for a moment she nudged her young forward and caused the stampede to move. Warning the other mothers and the leader about a hunter watching them. The gorge wasn't too far ahead from them and the wildabeests made their move.

Nala froze and held her breath but she foolishy let herself get noticed, she emitted a low growl. Feeling the ground shake under her paws she noticed the herd on the move and she panicked. She wasn't going to settle for any old antelope and hoped Vitani was in her position. Nala quickly made her move and sprung from behind the rocks, claws digging into the soft earth as she pushed herself forward. She cut into the side of the herd aiming for a young calf but missed as she swiped at the air. Nala was running aside of the herd but felt her muscles ache as she pushed herself, "Vitani...the calf" she growled hoping Vitani would hear her. Nala jumped to the inside once more and threw her claws at the calf's leg causing it to loose its balance and fall to the ground. Feeling succesful at wounding the calf Nala let her guard down and got swept into the herd, dust and hooves flying by her heard. Noticing the tree from earlier she lept into the air clinging to the tree branch, hurting and sore she tried to pull herself up. The ground was begining to flow downhill as the stampede made there way into the gorge, her blue eyes flashed with fear because she could feel the tree branch slink lower and lower to the stampedeing beasts.

Vitani swept through the heard. Finding a subtable wildebeest to show her father. She scratched her way through the heard, growling and roaring at the angry beasts. The drop was happening soon, but that wasn't going to stop her. Her heart was racing, adrenaline running through her veins. She ran faster and faster with every stride. Her blue eyes squinted as she roared her loudest. She saw an old tumbling wildebeest, stray from the heard. She clawed her way towards him and attacked the old thing. Claws digging into the poor creature as it cried in agonizing pain. She bit her teeth into the creature as it died a slow and painful death. She kept her teeth in for the last whimpers. She let go, licking her lips. Only to pick it up again and carry it off to the side and place it in a small opening. Then ran out again, going to save Nala. "Nala! Hold on!" She screamed, jumping in front of the tree and roaring and growling as loud as she could to keep the angry beasts away. They made a little opening, as Vitani helped Nala out of the tree. "Did you catch anything?" She panted, tuckered out from the hunt. The wildebeest cleared the gorge, as Vitani finished washing up.

Mufasa walked in impatient circles, worried about the two girls. He let out a small roar as he watched the Pridelands with no sight of them. "Zazu! Fly over-head and find where they are. I would love to know." He said, worried for the two girls. He let out a small sigh as he made his way back into the den.

OOC: Ok, Vitani is just about to meet Zira.

Simba waited for Nala and Vitani's return. He was hoping they were safe. Little did anyone know, however, that Vitani would soon meet a lioness from her past.

OOC: I thought Vitani was suppose go with the herd. But ill go.

Nala saw Vitani roar and the beests gave her a spot to jump to before the branch broke. Nala quickly let out a growl as she noticed her calf getting away with its mother nudgeing it forward into the gorge. "Go ahead Vitani, ill catch up. Im going to grab the calf I injured." Nala growled chasing after the herd into the gorge. Pushing herself forward Nala's muscles ached as she made it into the dusty rocky area and noticed the calf and mother. Jumping down the rocky ledge Nala slid and leapt into the stampeding herd and roared loudly. Blue eyes glazed in anger she brought forth her claws and leaped toward the young calf, sinking her fangs into the baby beest. Watching the calf cry as blood leaked from its neck, the mother wildabeest charged at Nala. Roaring and dodgeing, Nala moved around them quickly and she watched the mother get frightened and leave her dying calf behind. Nala stepped back over to the calf and bit into its neck once more, killing it quickly.

She exhaled exhausted and looked from the gorge all the way back up into the Pridelands, she grumbled. Her first hunt almost was a disaster and she was almost trampled. Grabbing onto the leg of the baby calf she began to drag her food up towards the Pridelands. She wasn't sure if Vitani had waited for her or went on ahead.

Sarafina laid on her stomach and looked out over Pride rock watching for the two lionesses and worry began to fill her. "I hope there alright Shujaa..." she said softly. Sarafina's green eyes glanced towards the gorge and she noticed the dust that was starting to settle, "Hmm...thats odd. Look Shujaa the gorge..." she added standing up to her paws. Sarafina paced around to get a better look and she looked towards Mufasa, wondering if her noticed.

Zira watched the stampede and was happy that her plan was doing better than she imagined. She sent Nuka, Scar, and a group of hyenas to "take care" of Nala, while she dealt with Vitani. She had also sent the hyenas previously to cause the stampede. He was quite surprised how well the lionesses hunted. But there was no time. She had to turn Vitani against the Pridelanders.

Vitani noticed a lioness up ahead and ran towards her kill to protect it. She lunged towards the small opening and positioned herself in front of the opening. Growling at the lioness walking towards her, she backed up closer to her kill and swiped her paw at Zira. "What do YOU want!" She growled with her blue eyes locked on Zira. She looked around, Nala was no where in sight. All she could hear is faint laughing and hooves padding against the dirt, she locked her eyes back on Zira. Growling, roaring and swiping her paw at her.

"What I want, dear, is a chance to tell you who you really are." Zira smiled at Vitani's expression. "Oh, yes. There is something your old daddy isn't telling you..."
