The new danger in the land

Tua: Okay! And baby, lets tell this one together! Well...it all started when I was starting to go into my adolescence. Your grandmother was pregnant and one day when everyone else was out hunting, her water broke. I was the only one at Priderock to help so I walked her through the birthing process and I was really to catch the cub. And a little while later...I was holding this angel of a cub in my arms! I thought she was just the cutest thing ever! ...I watched you mother come into this world.....and I'm glad to say we became close friends as we grew!

Mufasa tilted his head. "You're brother and sister?"
Marini was confused for a few seconds. She then chuckled as she realized that Mufasa was thinking about Tua's mother. "No. You have more than one grandmother."

Tua: Yes. Your mothers mother. Over the years we grew close. I always protected your mother while Scar was king. And after we beat him and Uncle Simba took his place as king, thats when ai started to wonder if I would ever find love. Years past and finally.....one day...I looked at your mother.....and I thought she was the most beautiful thing in existence! I fell in love! .....But.....seeing that I was a bit older.....made me second guess myself. It felt...kinda wrong to be in love with someone that much younger than me. It tore me apart on the inside. While your mother...had no idea of how i felt.

While both of their cubs looked quite intrigued by the story, Nuru occasionally rolled his eyes whenever something 'yucky' was mentioned. Mufasa didn't seem to mind.
"Well, one day, your father gathered up the courage to ask me out." said Marini after a short silence. "Your auntie Kiara pushed him into it... So, on our first date, we came here. It was really romantic and-"
Nuru groaned. "Nuru, I'm trying to listen!" Mufasa complained.

(Sorry I'm ocassionally having Nuru do something small here and there)

Nuru decided to shut up and try to listen.
Tua: You were saying. Dear?

Marini chuckled. "Well, we went out a few times and I started to return your father's feelings. I used to be quite reserved about love but I guess you could say that it was because Kiara's my best friend. One day she just started seeing Kovu and spending less time with me. But I gave your father a chance and came around eventually. He took me to different beautiful places which I hope we'll get to show you as well one day and we eventually got married. I guess you could say the rest is history..."

Tua: Actually...i asked her to marry me, right here in this hammock! I held her paw, looked her in the eyes and asked if we'd spend the rest if our live together!

Mufasa smiled. "Aww!" Nuru rolled his eyes.

Tua: And then...a few weeks later.....you two came into the picture! Your mother was pregnant! And we couldn't have been happier!
Nuru was slowly starting to warm up to the story.

"No, no," said Marini with a chuckle, "I could have definitely been happier. You didn't have to carry them around in your stomach for over 3 months. And don't even get me started on the morning sicknesses and mood swings!" She looked at her two cubs with a smile. "But it was worth it when I saw your cute little faces for the first time."
