Turning to face Daxis, Nala didn’t look the least bit intimidated by the young male’s display, even going as far as to walk up to where the brazen adolescent had stopped at, giving him a gentle pat with one of her fore paws as she spoke in an encouraging voice.
”That’s a good idea. That way, you can burn off some of this energy of yours and I’m sure there are plenty of lizards around here that will make for some decent pray for you Hun.”
Making her way back to where Gumu was, Nala listened to what the golden maned feline had to say about his former pride, bringing a more sympathetic look to be featured upon her face as she spoke in response to what she had heard.
”Sounds like a tough life to live Gumu. Reminds me a lot like how this pride used to be like under the reign of Scar, my mate’s former uncle, but I’d rather not get into detail of that matter if you don’t mind. It doesn’t hold many pleasantries for me.”
Shivering slightly from the thoughts of Scar and what she had endured under his rule, Nala’s mood shifted to a more desirable one as Gumu accepted her offer to escort her to the main den. Smiling and wasting no time, Nala took lead, motioning for the large Southlander to follow as the two felines left Daxis to his own accord. The pair hadn’t been walking for very long however, when Nala’s keen eyesight picked up the familiar silhouette of Mila, who seemed to be making her way towards the two. Turning to Gumu, knowing that the golden maned lion knew his manners and wouldn’t pose any threat to Mila, Nala spoke softly to him as the young lioness approached.
”Ahh, looks like you’ve caught the eye of someone else here Gumu. That young lioness there is named Mila. She’s very friendly and reliable. Don’t let her looks fool you though, she isn’t my daughter, although both Simba and I have raised her since she was a cub, due to some unfortunate events involving her parents. Another subject though that really isn’t discussed much. I’m sure you understand though.” Waving a paw to grab Mila’s attention and to signify that her presence had been known, Nala called out to her fellow lioness in a cheery voice. ”Good morning Mila. Didn’t see you for supper last night. Is everything okay?”
As the three felines met up, Nala stayed quiet for a moment, allowing Gumu to take the initiative to introduce himself to the cute lioness in front of him, knowing that Mila was always more than happy to make new members of the pride feel as welcome as could be.
