Arida yowled but refused to stop struggling or to give up. For Reese! her mind raged. She may have only known the lioness for less than a week but she somehow felt unwavering loyalty to Reese.

Suddenly Reese bowled into her brother, knocking him off balance and freeing Arida.

Arida yanked her paw loose. It was slightly bleeding but she didn't care. Struggling to hide a grimace, she crept towards Alec, her ice-blue eyes glaring up at him as she snarled and bared her teeth.

Reese stepped between them. "Enough. I'm not letting my past come back to haunt me, so be it. Alec, leave."

Arida stood up and glared at Alec, her fury cooling off but she was still ready to defend Reese if anything happened again.

Alec rolled his eyes. "Fine. When everything comes crashing down for you, don't come crying to me." He turned and walked off.

"And why would she come to you?" Arida hissed under her breath as she watched him leave.

Reese sighed. "DON'T LET THE FROST BITE YOU ON YOUR WAY OUT ALEC!"
No answer.

Arida sighed. "I'm sorry, Reese."

"I should be the one apologizing. You fell on the ice- you're gonna ache later."
