"Y..yeah. I'm fine. I'm still just shaken up a bit from the fall." Shahallie replied, though he was worse than he said to be. "Your brother is taking a long time and you look very worried. I'll go check up on him."

And before Tiaret could say anything, Shahallie trotted away to find Saka.

Saka easily squirmed out of the lionesses grasp and held her down with his large forepaw, growling. He watched the cub run away, hoping it didn't get hurt. He turned back to his attacker,"Call him-you know he won't last long."

Tiaret frowned a little worried as Shahallie trotted off. Her attention was diverted from his retreating figure by a small lion cub running out of the bushes, the veering away from her. She chased after the cub, knowing that if Shahallie needed help, Saka would help. She sprinted after the cub, away from Vida's curious looks.

Shahallie came to the scene where Saka and an unknown lioness looked like they were about to kill each other.

"Whoa! What's going on Saka?"

Saka looked up at Shahallie,"Isn't it obvious?"
He indicated the bushes in front of him with his head,"Her cub ran ran that way-get it, it'll die soon without protection."

Tiaret's paws pounded softly as she pushed through thorns and small trees. "Ah" She gave a small cry of pain as thorns wrapped around her ankle, then tore her flesh as she surged forward. She limped forward as fast as she could, following a whimpering noise. It led her to the base of a hollow tree where the small cub was hiding. She leaned forward, then dodged his tiny claws as he swiped at her. She smiled softly, as he lost his balance and fell on his side, then lunged forward an grabbed him by the scruff of his neck. She picked him up, despite his incessant struggling, and limped back towards the stream, hoping Shahallie and Saka were okay.

Rachelley growled and screamed in anger as she saw her son being carried back by a strange lioness. With a savage roar she leapt towards the female trying in vain to save her son...

Saka froze, knowing he wouldn't be able to reach Tiaret or the lioness in time. He had failed his family, he had failed his pride.

Tiaret swallowed as she saw the lioness leap. Thinking fast, and of the small cub's safety, she tossed him towards Saka. "Saka!"
She saw Saka lash out with his neck and catch the cub just as the lioness landed on her, claws extended. Tiaret rolled over, hoping in vain to get the lioness off without hurting her. As the pain worsened, Tiaret snarled and twisted, flinging her clawed paw into the lionesses face. She jumped up as the lioness landed, then collapsed from the bloody gashes on her sides and chest and the pain from her raw ankle.

Futenal screamed in agitation as he was thrown through the air. "Mama! Help!" he cried out as he tried to get away from the male lion that was now holding him.

Seeing that the female no longer had her son Rachelley roared and spun around, ignoring her pain. Seeing that the male had her son she started to stalk towards him a mad gleam entering her eye. "Let. My. Son. Go" she snarled at him, readying herself to attack him again.

The thought of tearing the lioness's cub to pieces in front of her for hurting Tiaret crossed his mind. However, he stayed perfectly still as the lioness advanced, unsure what to do.
"Saka, give the cub to her." Saka glanced over as Tiaret's head slumped down onto her front paws. He hesitated, then set the quivering cub down then gently slid him forward with his paw. As the lioness leaned forward to grab her cub, Vida's sprang out the bushes and attacked her. As the two lionesses rolled around, Saka stepped imperatively forward, blocking the small cub from danger, and escape. "Stop, Vida."
Vida stopped immediately, pinning the lioness down, and staring at her. Saka saw the bloodthirstiness gleaming in her red eyes,"Get off of her, go find Shahallie. Make sure he hasn't fainted in a ditch, or something."
Vida snarled and whispered in the lionesses ear,"This is far from over." Then she dashed off.
Saka carefully picked the small cub up and dropped him by the injured lioness,"Here is your cub, go if you want. You can stay with us for protection." He admired her willingness to die for her cubs sake, anyone like that should be treated with respect.

Rachelley snarled at Saka. Never she thought. Never will I be taken in again. She slowly tried to get up to her feet, but her injuries were to sever, with a frustrated whimper she slumped back down and nuzzled Futenal to her.

Saka swallowed hard, glancing from Tiaret, who was unconscious in a puddle of blood to the injured lioness before him. He knew Tiaret would want him to help the lioness, but he wanted to help his little sister. He knew which decision was the right one, and thus approached the lioness. He restrained himself from hurting her as she snarled and swiped at her. Despite her snarlings he tossed her onto his broad shoulders and carried her to the shade of a tree near the stream. Saka quickly trotted over towards Tiaret and hoisted her onto his shoulders. He laid her gently down by the lioness, reasoning that they were both too hurt to kill each other.

Vida sprinted down the hill, following Shahallie's blood trail and muttering to herself. Saka had grown so soft. When he and she played together first, he wanted to be a strong king, but after Tiaret was born he wanted to be a good king. She had wanted to be his queen, but now that his betrothed (a lioness he had not much liked because she was bossy) was dead and there was a chance for her to get want she wanted, she no longer wished to be the queen of soft, kind king. "Shahallie! Saka wants you!" Her voice rang. She waited a few moments before using a different technique."Shahallie! Tiarets been hurt! She may be dead!"
