"Also, there is the matter of your successor if Nala accepts Prince Simba proposal and moves to Agrabah. May I suggest my son Kas'im to be the next sultan if Nala does leave?" he added.

Kovu ran through the palace as he narrowly avoided a few palace servants and guards. He had overslept and was hoping Simba hadn't left without him. Everyone in the Palace knew Simba was going to another kingdom to find himself a bride. Kovu wasn't into the gross lovey duvey stuff, but he wanted to tag along with the prince. Kovu viewed Simba as the older brother he never had. In fact Kovu owed the fact he and his Parents lived in the Palace to Simba.

Kovu and his Parents used to be among the kingdom's poor and impoverished. The young cub remembered he used to steal food, and sometimes money to support him and his family. He once made the 'Mistake' of stealing from Simba, but rather than punish him, Simba convinced the sultan and Sultana to hire Kovu's Parents as servants. Even though Kovu lived in the palace now, he still had some kleptomania moments. He had been caught a few times trying to sneak into to the vault, and he had also been caught with pick pocketed food and valuables. He was trying to control himself, but it was hard.

Kovu thudded to a halt as he landed on the floor, looking up he smiled sheepishly as he saw it was Simba. "Sorry Simba." He said as he got up.

Simba looked down at his friend. "It's no big deal, Kovu. I'm not the sort of royal who sends people to the dungeon for minor infractions," he said. He then helped the cub to his feet.

Vitani watched as Simba met with Kovu. Letting a thief into the palace was just asking for trouble. If her parents were ruling this wouldn't have happened. She shook her head. She had to play the part of the good cousin, at least for now.

Zira turned to Scar.

"So do we leave first thing in the morning?" asked Zira.

In Faiyz, Queen Safaraina listened to her adviser and nodded

"I believe you are right but I will my final decision when Nala marries. Whether it's Simba or someone else. One day she will leave and then I will find a king." said Sarafina.

Selim bowed. "Very well, your majesty," he said before going to take his seat. Meanwhile, back in Agrabah, Rafiki, a mandrill who served as Mufasa's grand vizier, heard Zira's question. "Yes, Simba will be leaving with his small royal entourage tomorrow. You and Scar will be joining him, of course. However, tonight, Simba will be entering the royal treasury to find Princess Nala a gift," he said. He then looked at Mufasa. "I believe that after dinner would be a good time, your majesty," he said to the sultan.

"Or the kind who cuts off the hands of a theif." Kovu said with a smile. "Hey Simba, do we really gotta take your uncle and Aunt along, they really creep me out." He said. Ever Since he and his Family moved in, Kovu had been getting bad vibes from Scar and Zira.

Simba smiled at Kovu. "Yes, we'll be taking them along. My parents want them to keep an eye on me to make sure nothing goes wrong," he said, looking at his uncle and aunt just briefly. "If it makes you feel any better, I used to be creeped out by Uncle Scar's snake staff when I was your age," he said to Kovu. Simba then looked at Mufasa. "Well, Father, will I be entering the treasure chamber soon?" he asked.

Mufasa nodded, smiling slightly. "As soon as the sun reaches its highest point, the path will be revealed." Seeing their confused looks, he sighed and clarified, "We'll let you in at noon, Simba. Now go pack for your journey, say your goodbyes, and then report to my chamber in an hour."

Simba bowed. "Yes, Father," he said. He then went back to his meal. After the banquet, Simba went to pack his belongings. Following that, he went to his father's chamber. The guards let him in. "I am here, Father," he said.

Mufasa turned around from where he was sitting on a finely furnished chair, reading a scroll. "Ah, Simba!" He enveloped his son in a warm hug and pulled away, grinning. "You have finally come of age to marry! It seems like just yesterday that you were a small cub playing by my feet during councils." He opened his mouth as if to say more, but decided against it. He reached into his back pocket and took out a key and placed it into his son's paws, closing the fingers over it. "Here is the key to the Treasure Chamber. Guard it well, for we have many things stored there that would catastrophic if fallen into the wrong paws."
